Hello everyone,

Wanted to tell you the good news about my blood sugar and raw food!!!

Last May I went on the MC and went off all my meds, cholesterol, diabetic meds and meds for bipolar. After the cleanse I felt great and my numbers were unbelievable after the cleanse. I stayed mostly raw until about October and then I began eating the SAD again. I never went back on any of my meds because I just don't believe in it. Much to the chagrin of my family and friends. I threw caution to the wind because I believed in this way of eating so much.

Well, I took my blood sugar about once a week and it was always 150-160 fasting(morning time). Today after a long absence from the blood sugar testing I registered at 115 this morning before I ate anything.

I really believe that it is due to the way I have been eating and really tuning in to what my body is telling me. This is so great!!!!

To everyone out there, just keep on keepin on and it will truly happen little by little. Increments, increments, increments!!!!

Divitalia,

Here is a testimonial from a guy who HAD diabetes and also other things. His doctors flipped and got mad at him (he was seriously near death) because he did not want surgery or meds.

He went raw and no longer takes anything except raw food for his health

Here is a link to his testimonial. It's a great motivator

Just wondering why you would think you were doing so well if you only took your BG (blood glucose) once a week and then had a long absence from taking it? I take mine twice daily at the minimum. If you don't take it frequently you have no way of knowing how you are doing. I've had diabetes long enough now that I usually have an absence of symptoms from hypos or hypers. So the only way I know is by testing. What was your last A1c?

juliebove,

I think we know our bodies well enough that I don't really need to take a bg test as often as I need to. One, because I knew that I was way out of control and know my body well enough to know that it was not good. When I finally took more control of my eating habits I started to check more often wondering what it was like now. My last A1C was 5.5.

Have a great day,

Sounds like you are on track then. I could not go without frequent testing because at times I have problems with hypos and I don't always have symptoms. People hate it when I'm walking along seemingly fine and then I faint.

EVERY illness is caused by overacidity and toxemia-isn't it awesome to know it's that simple? cause it's so easy to reverse, even the neurological imbalances. I think depression or irritability even, is just a gradation on a scale which can slip into more advanced imbalances if the blood terrain supports it (toxemia). Congrats to you!! You will forever know how to heal yourself, and can help so many others with your example!! You are inspiring me greatly!! Many blessings....

Just getting started in the raw life. Plan on going 100% March 1st for 30 days!! Hope that more people with blood sugar challenges will join in. I hear much talk about coconut oil. Is there anything wrong with eating coconuts in moderation?? Thanks.

Nothing wrong with eating coconuts in moderation. I have one or two of the baby white coconuts a week here. I love them! Hmm.. coconut smoothies.. coconut milk... hmm.. coconut!

I've started eating more coconut. I get the dried, raw kind. I don't put it in anything. Just eat a bit of it every now and then as a snack or along with my meal. I have a hard time finding sources of fat since I don't really like olive oil too much on most of my raw veggies. I do like carrots dipped in it and then dipped in a bit of salt though. Also don't like salad dressings or avocados. So aside from nuts, I'm not getting much fat in my diet.
