I don't even know where to begin; first off, been raw since mid september, lost only a few lbs (but that was fine because this really helps with my food allergies). I was keeping it pretty simple with my meals, lots of fruit in the am, salads for lunch (plenty of veggies), green smoothies, salads for dinner. Snack of nuts, etc. Even made it through the holidays.

This is where I need some tips, suggestions, advice. I do know that I've had slight hypothyroid in the past (ok, maybe not that slight, seven years ago I had put on a LOT of weight in a very short period of time, even with very healthy eating and consistent workouts). I can't remember when exactly it started, I would say late december, but I really couldn't tolerate fruit much anymore, especially sweeter fruits, even in my green smoothies (which I would make with lots of spinach and berries) ~ I would get sick, almost nauseaus after having one. So as you can imagine, this has drastically cut down on what I'm eating!!! Basically, in the morning I have E3live blended with one grapefruit (and that kinda cuts my appetite), for lunch I have a salad with some veggies and oil and lemon as dressing; mid afternoon I'll have some tahini or nut milk (this past week I've been adding brown rice protein to it); dinner is another salad and almonds or walnuts. This is basically what my diet has consisted of for the past few weeks. I drink at least a 1/2 gallon of water throughout the day, in addition to 1/2 gallon for my workouts (1hr. cardio 5x's/week and Bikram yoga 6x's/week).. I haven't lost any weight, actually I have gained!!!! I have gained about 7lbs in the past few weeks and I think a total of 10 since first going raw (now mind you, although I had a slip up here and there, nothing major) I do realize that right now my calories are low (I do try to have enough nuts to keep it high, but I probably burn about 1000 calories/day working out), but not being able to have fruit has really affected this. My main question is, what could this be?? I suspected candida? maybe my thyroid is out of whack again? My other symptoms are constipation (which I almost always have) and my eczema has really flared up recently...I don't really feel bloated like when I first started raw. Any suggestions???

I have the same type of symptoms as you. I havenoticed that you excercise alot. I think you may be gaining muscle.

I would try kelp capsules. This helped me with constipation and may help with any hypothyroidism because of the iodine.

I also recommend coconut oil because it converts immediately into energy and I have lost weight with it even though I take it everyday 1-2 tablespoons.

I should have mentioned that I do take a supplement with kelp, its specifically to support the thyroid (also has some tyrosine along with a few other nutrients). And I try to have some sea veggies at least every other day (if not every day). I put some coconut oil in my nut milk (so I'm probably getting close to 1tbs/serving) I know its not muscle, because its really not as easy as most think to gain muscle (especially in a short amount of time and even this amount, I used to be a personal trainer so I have experience with that); I don't even lift weights, currently just cardio, which would actually reduce muscle....What really concerns me (in addition to being a big hassle) is not being able to tolerate sugar?? I am running out of things to EAT!!! I can only have soo many salads! I'm trying some manna bread today, hoping it will at least move things along and add some more calories (yes, I know its not really raw, but its kinda close)
