If so, how does that work? Do they have a "routine" you go through on the machines? Can anyone elaborate for me? I'm somewhat shy and have a hard time getting up the nerve to interact with people I don't know outside of my little daily life routine. So I'd like to know a little about it before I actually go down there to check it out.

Has anyone had great success there? Weight loss, etc? What kind of equipment do you work out on there?

Hi Katrina,

I was also curious about Curves being that its such a popular thing these days. I looked on the website and it appears to use resistance machines and other exercise equipment as well as utilize weight-loss counseling. It does a 30 minute workout. Sounds good. I recommended it to a woman I was counseling.

Peace.

Hi Katrina!

I've been going there for over a year now. I've had memberships to gyms where you have to know the different machines, and you have to count your sets and reps, and always be changing your weights.

What I love about Curves is it's a mindless routine. They have the machines in a circle, and you always go to the one that's next at the voice prompt playing every 30 seconds with the music. The first time you go there, an employee will show you how to use the machines, but they're all really easy. You basically can figure most of them out just by looking, there's nothing to adjust, you just sit (or stand) and move something.

I would recommend Curves for anyone who is either just beginning an exercise program, or needs something quick and easy that they don't have to plan out. The only people Curves wouldn't be good for is hard-core body builders :)

Kmik! Thank you!!:D It sounds perfect for me. I walk on my treadmill but am just not getting enough of a workout all the time. I'm going to go down there and check it out this week.

Thanks so much for all the feedback ya'll!

hi there

it is a place to exercise

i don't like it it's too ritualistic

thesame thing over and over again

day after day

nothing new to workout on

it's a circuit desined so that everyone faceseach other

and can watch each other

i don'tlike stucture and systems without variations

too boring and annoying

i like creativity in my routine

and the choice to do what i want to do

not what the recorded musice says i am to do and when

but some poeple need structure and repetition day after day

not for me

i quit after a few months of boringness

its tought to quit if you sign a contract so be careful before you sign

hope thishelps

take care
