New here, from Illinois

Hello all,

I just found this website and it seems to be just what I've needed. I had been toying with the idea of going raw for a few months and finally took the leap a few weeks ago. I feel great but I know I have a lot left to learn, which is how I ended up here :)

I'm a 25 year old single mother in Northern Illinois. I work as a Quality Administrator. Lately my hobbies have been eating right and working out, but I also make beads and jewelry if I can find the time. I'm looking forward to learning all I can here.

I live in Illinois also about 30mins. from chicago. Have you been to karyn's Corner ? It's a raw resturant in Chicago.

I have been trying to be raw for a few years now and won't stop trying till I get it right.

I've been to Karyn's and to the new raw food restaurant Cousin's. Both are great.

Jennifer, have you read Alissa's book? I was getting frustrated, until I read that. It brought it all together for me!

I was born in Elgin raised in South Elgin and I now live in Batavia.


Yes, I have Alissa book Love it. I have made several thing from it. I made the Banana crepes and took them to work I had 8 of them and left with 1 which my son ate this morning :mad: without telling me. My boss and a few coworkers loved them.


So glad to see more people in the area going raw.

why don't you join the suburban raw meetup group? We get together in St. Charles at Sweet Tomatoes once a month, and there's another group we're getting together for potlucks in Naperville. http://rawfood.meetup.com/42/
