They put an Aldi grocery store in the town next to me. Years ago i would shop at Aldi's but moving away, then back, i got away from going there. Anyway...
Mangos --59 cents
2 lbs bananas -- 40 cents
GREEN avocados -- 59 cents
They had celery for super cheap along with lettuce, oranges, etc. Not a ton of choice but what they had was very inexpensive!

Hope this helps all you out there that are feeding kids and all --- maybe get the least pesticide laden foods here and organic for the others...
Here's a website that has the high/low pesticide contamination list

I've seen a couple of Aldi's around here in Charlotte, but I've never been to one! I'll go check it out. Thanks!

* gasp * :eek:

I just did a Web search and found one of these stores less then 5 miles from my house...in an area I rarely visit! I was assuming there wouldn't be one near me. Guess where I'm going? :)

Thanks, Rawsistah!!

I do my weekly shopping at Aldi's. I have to supplement at another store occasionally if the tomatoes look bad, etc. The avacado's are the BEST I have found in my area and never rotting or brown. The prices can't be beat, and it's all pretty good, even though there isn't a large variety.
