Hi! I've done this raw thing before....before i had a kid...which seems to make all the differnce. But i'm starting on the full moon (tonight!) and going at it for one month. They call this moon The Cold Moon, which seems fitting for starting raw foods. It is a time of introspection and all that. I think it is a good time to really give my health another shot. I fully expect that by the end of the month, i will keep going at it...and we'll see what happens!

But i'm going to need help! Need people to remind me that BUrritos AREN'T THAT GREAT ! And that there are so many benefits to raw foods.

So if anyone wants to be a dear and mentor me, a has-been who will-be-again, please stop by my forum and give a shout out.

Thanks!

No, i don't have alissa's book. I am not in a financial situation to buy any new books right now...though i bet it is wonderful. I've got juliano's book, and i've read natures' first law. I'm going out to used book stores today. i'd like to get some more motivational material.

I'm so excited, I hope I do it!

I totally fell off the wagon.... I'm not sure what happened, but I think i set my goals too high. For now, I'm going to try to do like 75% raw this summer....that way, if I feel inspired to do more, I can do it....and if I don't do 100% I won't feel like a failure.

Welcome!! I wish you the best of rawesome health!!!

On the burritos, I have found that simple raw burritos are a great "fix"! I use collards for wrappers, and make a "refried bean" mixture from soaked sunny seeds (season with a bit of olive oil, cumin, chili powder, s & p), then top with chopped onions and a pepper sauce - YUM!!!!!! It's addictive - I SWEAR!!!

I too would encourage you to get Alissa's book and DVD....you mentioned the expense....hey, it's spring, clean out your drawers and closets and have a yard sale (just an idea). My girls had a yardsale which was according to them getting paid to get rid of their junk, unusables etc....they really made quite a bit of money from things they needed to get rid of anyway and what they didn't sell went to charity and the garbage. Anyway, there's got to be a way to get her book.....it really will help you in being successful.

Hello from Bothell, Washington. I am also a has been-am again who knows the power of raw. Are you near a good library system? Check it out. I use the King County Library. Go online to kcls.org and do a subject seach for raw food. You will be surprised at how many books are available. Though many of them have a long waiting list, they are worth waiting for. I currently have a hold placed for Alissa's book. Try David Wolfe's "Eating for Beauty" or "Sunfood Diet Success System" for inspiration. Also try "The Complete Book of Raw Food" by Lori Baird. Have a green day.
