I am on day two of a fast after three days of juicing and a week of 100% raw. This morning I woke up with extreme nausea, weakness, and my heart was pounding. Has anyone experienced detox symptoms/healing event such as this?? How long does this usually last? I am starting to feel a bit better after drinking some water and I have to admit I sucked on an orange wedge just because my little kids needed attention.

I am on day 5 of an orange juice fast and it has been a roller coaster! I've been feeling weak, last night especially, and dizzy when I'm not lying down. I also got some bouts of nausea, but they would go away pretty quickly. And last night I just started crying! Then about a minute later, I was fine! I'm not sure how long it will last, it varies. But I've read a lot of fasting books with testimonials and the people usually say a couple-few days of detox and then BAM! lots of wonderful, lovely energy! I cant wait! haha :o

My horrible side affect is feeling like I'm going to pass out. I'm on day 10 of a fast and that feeling is overcoming me. Last time it happened, I had soooo much energy the next day. Can't wait because this is no fun to feel this way.
Your symptoms sound "normal."

mangomommy, smellydelly, and mom of three:
sorry to hear about your symptoms. i am not fasting yet, but i am experiencing some flu-like stuff on day 6 of 100% raw. i keep repeating what my mom always told me when i was younger and going through a hard time: "this too shall pass." i'd love it if you could write again when you experience relief from the sickness part and /or energy during the fast.
good luck and love,

Wow! Day 11 today and after the extreme OK just let me die I feel like a spring chick! It was so worth it! I could have climbed a mountain except I didn't sleep well last night as part of the cleaning/healing process. I expect to sleep well tonight.
Check out my journal by clicking below. I try to be more detailed in there.

well I did a orange jucie fast for 3 days, on day two I started geting a head ache :( by day 4 my face was going numb , it was the worst feeling I have ever had! and the migrane that came with it was even worse! I stoped the oranges for the rest of the day and only did water, today I am juicing apples and so far I feel great! :D. I plan on fasting for 30 days but will see.

Sorpresa,
I am fasting for
1. self-discipline
2. improved health
3. spiritual benefits
4. to allow my digestive system to heal and process "left overs :) "
I believe that 2006 is a year of many changes along all levels of life for me (spiritual, emotional, physical, etc.) and so I must be prepared and ready to embrace life and all the changes to come. Happy fasting everyone!

I'm fasting to get more energy, heal my bowel (leaky bowel), get rid of bad breath (might be due to candida yeast overgrowth) and definitely NOTto lose weight! My face is getting so I look like a skelatin. Why don't my hips do that instead

fasting will be great for healing your colon. sound like your doing this all for the right reasons. As far as my self, like I said before I had gotten off track with my eating( started eating a cooked vegan diet). So by fasting ,I am hoping to stop those cooked food cravings and so far I am doing great with that. I am now on day 6 and have no cravings at all. I know being a colon therpist that raw is the best! And I want to be healthy and I want to set an example for others. I feel that I can't do that being sick, and over weight.
