Hi,

I'm new to this site and raw food in general and could really use some help. I have some pressing health issues that I need to deal with and I'm not sure if I should just dive into the diet or get some guidance. Do I fast first, detox, take supplements ect. And if so who do I listen to and who's program has had good results. I can't afford to go on a retreat and have limited funds to spend. There are so many books and raw gurus out there I don't know where to start and I'm just getting really confused. Some people have sent me to look at Dr. Fuhrman, David Favor, Gabriel Cousens ect. Has anyone had major health issues that needed to be addressed? If so did you just follow the diet? Do we need minerals and all the super foods that David Wolfe talks about? I would appreciate any help. I just need to do something ASAP.

Hi Lynn -

I am so glad you are interested in the raw foods! I am relatively new myself and have found great success. I would highly recomend getting Alissa's book "Living on Live Food". It will answer all your questions you just asked (Even gives success stories of people with MAJOR health issues to overcome) and will give you an excellent referance tool. Hi Carol,

Thank you for the encouragment. I have already put in an order for Allisa's book and I'm really anxious to get it. One of the biggest confusions for me has been supplements. Some say you don't need them on raw foods and others have a whole list of things you should take every day. Anyway I look forward to reading Allisa's book. I wish I could get my hands on it to read over the weekend!
