Hello, Im new from Oregon

Hello,
My name is Sheila and I live just outside of Portland Oregon. I am 39 years old and have been a vegetarian for almost eight years. I have been interested in the raw food lifestyle for quite some time and am going to start on raw food tomorrow.

Welcome to the site!!! Great to go raw. Where outside of Portland do you live? I grew up in McMinnville. My parents live in King City in Tigard, brothers live in Gresham and Southeast Portland.

hi sheila! welcome my fellow oregonian. i'm new to this site, too.

we're making a transition to raw food. we'll probably never be 100% raw, but we're including lots and lots of raw food... the RAWer the better. we're working our way through alissa's book and dvd right now... and i just picked up "The Raw Gourmet" book as well... our two boys ages 6 and 10 are also journey'ing through this adventure with us, and so far they really seem to love the new recipes. yay!

welcome, I am in Oregon as well, Portland. Been raw off and on for a couple of years. Doing the 90 day challenge to get back on track.
Have any of you Oregonians attended one of the raw foods potlucks? There is one on Tuesday I am thinking of going to. It would be nice to meet others and eat someone elses creations!!

Hi everyone,

thank-you all for welcoming me to this site. I live in sherwood. Toni, do you still live in Mac? I have been there many times. It is a really nice town and we are thinking of moving there or maybe Lafayette. We have our house up for sale right now so we'll see what happens. I have never been to a raw potluck. I will have to go sometime, it sounds like fun.

Hi all! I'm another raw food vegan newbie in Oregon!

Just finished 12 Steps to Raw Foods that arrived today. I see the
value of having a support group. So, here I am. I am new to raw food and armed with a few books but no support system. Anyone interested in adopting a newbie (becoming a sponsor)? I live in a cooked food family and a very un- understanding one at that but that is where I am. It took over a year for them to get used to my lacto-ovo vegetarianism but this is pushing them over the edge. Thus, I am seeking a supportive community.

I am working on Step 3 and seeking Step 6. Kinda wierd thinking of
it in the 12-Step way but it speaks to me. Hope there is someone out there who understands where im coming from and i think you all have been there at one time.

Soooooooo...hopefully there is a compassionate raw food vegan soul
out there who is willing to help a fellow raw food vegan newbie out.
