Help !!!

Okay I was raw 98% of time for about ten days when all of a sudden I experenced what felt to be PMS symptoms. I began to feel moist and puffy and then craved sweets and salty foods. I am no where near my PMS time and wondered if anyone else has experenced this as well. I kid you not when I say that i have gained 5 lbs in a day and a half.

Frustrated and tempted to give up (but won't),
Linda

Misslinda,

I don't have an answer for you other than (what probably is the most hated phrase in the raw foods "movement") it's probably detox *shrugs shoulders*

But I did want to ask you something and it's not meant to sound harsh or offensive or anything like that...you signed off saying you are frustrated and tempted to give up, but you won't. My question to you is, if you were to give up and begin eating your past way again due to what you're experiencing now, would that make it all better? Would that make the bloating and the symptoms go away (it might mask them but the root cause would still be there). It's not the food you're eating (it COULD be the combinations, though) but fruits and veggies don't cause ill feelings....they just don't. It's a reaction your body is going through as it's trying to adjust and cleanse, etc. Or, it could be something else, but I highly doubt it's raw food.

Forgot to ask, is pregnancy a possibility or change in hormones/change in cycle time?

I knew you'd be the first to the rescue Rawcolonics!!!!

Your questions made me realize this.....I was looking for an excuse to "slip" for a moment. I then went to have a mustard powder detox bath and cogitated.

You are truly right in saying,,,,"I hardly believe raw foods are causing this." Something else I didn't think about, I'm not getting much b-vitamins and vitamin c so I'll make some adjustments and see.

Thank you for asking the important questions--I think my common sense side is fading!

luv,
Linda

LOL! I hear you Linda, I hear you. I'm so glad you hear you say (or see you write) that you were "looking for an excuse to slip" because I think many people do that rather than just doing what they're gonna do and accepting it, taking responsibility for it and moving on.

I had 4 wonderful days of 100% raw and today I screwed up...because I WANTED to. It was actually pre-meditated as last night I was ready to do it but decided to wait until today so I could get one more 100% day in!

So, I did my thing today and tomorrow is a new day and I'll aim to get right back on track. But yes, do make adjustments, etc., but don't give up...at least not for that reason. If you decide to yield to eating something non-raw (as most of us do or have done at some point or other), let it be because it's what you dedcided to do for the moment...nothing more, nothing less; then you decide after that if you want to continue down that path or if you want to make your way back to eating raw.

Ohhhhhh you did the thing premeditated--I did too. In a very intuitive sense, I knew it was going to happen to moi. Looks like we will prevail and move on to newer and better. Thank you again for getting my brain to work properly. See what cooked foods do!

luv,
Linda

Misslinda,

Sounds like you felt like a float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Glad you are feeling better.

I too feel bloated at times.

A few weeks ago I went off raw for a night. I had a great meal of :
Sea Bass
Yukon Potatoes
Cream of corn
Some French white wine

The next day....forget it. I had a runny nose, gas, bloating, my nerves were shot. Don't eat cooked food. It's like the devil........tastes so good then.. bam bam bam bam!!!!!!!!!!! Al Pacino could play a good devil.

Stay on the raw journey my friend.

Peace,

M.B.

~@~@~Greeting M.B~@~@~

You could say I felt like a couple of floats! I'm still downsizing--and water makes it worse in terms of the bloatedness. Anyway, are you new? I'm Linda and how long have you been raw?

luv,
linda

Hey! I'm 3 weeks into 90% and thought I had gained about 5 pounds...not so happy with that of course. But I think detoz has started. I'm the one who has posted about strange red blothcy face.
Well, still have the rash, but the pounds are falling off like crazy. I have not been on a scale, but I can see a HUGE difference.

I remembered that "someone" had called me that a while back...had no idea it was YOU!!

Rawbin: That's wonderful that the lbs. are now coming off as you desired! I'm sure your face will also begin to clear up of the blotches!
