View Full Version : Is My Body Speaking To Me?

I am wondering if other have experienced this:

I am on day #6 raw (almost 7 because I am about to go to bed--whoohoo!!). I have really adapted to being raw pretty easily this past week. In fact, it seems too easy for me.

I have been about 75% raw on and off for the past 6 months. It was always very hard. Being 100% is a whole different animal. When 75%, I did not lose the weight I am losing now (it was MUCH slower), and I didn't feel so good. But most glaringly, I craved cooked/SAD foods all of the time.

Now, 100%, I am not craving at all. In fact, I have very little appetite, and I have just been letting my body sort of speak to me, tell me what to eat when.

It's really weird because I have so much energy, and I eat enough, but I don't think about food at all, and just begin to crave certain raw foods when I get hungry.

Maybe you all are looking at this like, "duh...that is how it's supposed to be..." It just seems too easy, like maybe my body couldn't actually do this this quickly.

Finally, this is the amazing thing: I wrote to Jinjee last night and asked her if she had any tips on how to get rid of my stretch marks. I think her post-pregnancy pictures are absolutely amazing. She wrote me right back and gave me some tips, but most of all encouraged me to keep eating 100% raw.

Well, kind of coincedence, but this afternoon when I got home from work, I changed out of my uniform into my clothes, and noticed my tummy was smaller, so I started feeling it. It is seriously not just shrinking, it is getting firmer. I have all of this skin just hanging from the baby, it has never gone back. But it was like a miracle that it is magically going back and firming up. I am in shock.

I started the exercise and massage/taking care of tummy tips she gave me. I really think raw foods might help me to totally get rid of this problem. I got this non-elastic skin from my mom who, in her early 60s STILL has the post-pregnancy skin just hanging there...

Hi, I'm on day 10 of being Raw and it has been easy also for me, no craving and loosing weight really fast, down 10 lbs now!! I did not have any problems until day 7 when I started to have GI problems, you know detoxing, but it is getting better. Even through all the GI problems my body feels over all better. More energy and drive, need less sleep, waking up feeling good, postive attitude.

Good luck to you, Keep up the good work.

I would LOVE to hear what Jinjee said to you regarding your skin and stretchmarks. I am a redhead with extremely pale skin, and having three children has about done me in aesthetically. I know that's not what life is all about, how your stomach looks, but my youngest is almost a year old now, and I would so love to think that there is something that I can do to aid in the stretchmark, sagging skin department.

I've read testimonials from people that said saggy skin they had had for decades just lifted up after about a year on 100% raw. Amazing stories!!!

I'm seconding the request above... that tummy care tips did you get???

Cheers,
Sheryl

I would love to know what you are eating to be losing weight. I just completed 7 days 100% raw and I've gained a few pounds. I've discovered that nuts and raisins can not be a part of my diet as they are addicting. I usually have a green smoothy in the morning and a few pieces of fruit for lunch. Dinner is a large salad and then I tend to snack on nuts, raisins, grapes, whatever. I find that my tummy sometimes feels distended and uncomfortable after I eat. And I tend to get hungry about 2 hours after breakfast and lunch. So I'd love to know what people are eating who are losing weight as I have about 40lbs to lose and so far it's not going in the right direction.

I am at work right now, and cannot get to my home email. I will post her advice on the board tonight.
