Hi All!
I have been researching the "OHI" and I would love to visit the San Diego branch. I was wondering if any of you have ever had a chance to attend OHI or any other type of healing institute or retreat. What were your experiences like?

So, it's been 10 days since I posted this, I guess it's safe to assurme that nobody has visited the optimum health institute or gone to a raw food retreat (vacation)! I guess I'll have to save up some $$$ and check it out for myself. Wouldn't it be awesome. Also, I would love to be able to go to one of those raw food retreats that David Wolfe host in Hawaii! BUT seriously, who wouldn't???

I have gone to the Creative Health Inst. in Michigan. I spent two weeks there about two years ago. It was wonderful. You learn so much and the people are wonderful.

It is in the same general area where my sister lives, and we passed it on the road when I was there for her wedding in November. It immediately piqued my curiosity enough to that I wished I worked there. Are they all raw or just part raw? What can you tell me about it?

I have a friend who has been to the one in Cali. a few times and she really likes it.
If you want to email me, I can then forward it on to her and she can answer any questions.
Hope you are doing well rawjojo!

I have been to OHI Twice, but have never gone through the program. I first went when a Hypnotherapy teacher was working there. I went to watch him do parts therapy on people who had an illness. The last time I went on a tour and they gave me a free dinner with sprouts and a nut pate. I think it is a good program. They have colonics and massage therapy. You also learn how to grow wheatgrass, sprouts and prepare raw foods. I believe they're philosophy is based on Essenes? It isn't the most modern facility aesthetically, but I think they have a good program. They conduct tours on Sundays at 4 p.m.

I am new on this site, just reading through the threads.
I have gone to OHI two times for one week each.
Their philosophy is based on Ann Wigmore's, so a basic is wheatgrass juice. All you want! For whatever you want! They are 100% raw and each week's menu includes two days of fasting. There are classes every day, community get-togethers in the evening. The first week is mostly educational, the second and third weeks you learn more about raw food prep.
They are mostly a detox center with lots of incredible healing experiences. They are not the most luxurious, but their intention is to keep the costs as low as possible. I live in the middle of the movie industry, and find that a number of celebrities go to OHI to keep themselves in working condition.
Hope this helps. You can check out their website, it's quite informative.

Hey Rawjojo,

Are you still looking to go to OHI? Come down to Florida and go to Hippocrates! Both programs are Ann Wigmore programs. If you come to Hippocrates, I'll be able to see you!

Smile!

This is a great thread.

Does anyone know of a center that helps resolve medical issues that one is not able to find cures for elsewhere? Also, that the menu is raw (or at least one has the choice of being raw). I am wanting a medical center type place.
