View Full Version : Suffering
I have tried over and over again to find ways out of eating raw or juicing. Today I am going to suffer the pain i feel when I do not chose to have chocolate, or pizza or tacos. I want to feel better and the only way is to suffer, i need encouragement. thank you

hi pril , what keeps me working towards attaining my goal of perfectly fueling my cells are 2 things . #1- i believe our souls are eternal , and to this point in our evolution our bodies wear out and we have to grow new ones . between bodies we exist as energy without matter , we still have a thought pattern but we have no body to do anything with . i believe we are many past bodies old but from our current state we cant remember our past but we have a very long past . and not just with human level bodies but with less complicated body types such as the souls now existing as the other creature types of this planet . at an earlier point in our evolution we had smaller roots grown on our souls which could only develop lesser body types such as fish , insects , cattle , etc now develop ( i dont know anyone that agrees with me but its my own hypothosis from observing life on earth for the 47 year span of my current body ) , that is why i broke my link in the food chain . i see myself as no better than any other creature , all the other creatures of this planet are just younger souls than me . and there is no god thing coming to make us eternal , we have to figure it out on our own . our bodies shall keep wearing out until we master the physical laws of the universe and find what it takes to attain complete control of the state of our bodies so that they never age / corrode away . and sooner or later everyone is going to realize that to attain eternal bodyhood you have to eat PERFECTLY , there can be no games . eating is serious business , our food is just like a plants soil . if you put a plant in poor soil its going to wilt , if you feed your cells poor soil your cells/body shall wilt and eventually disinegrate , its up to you . the sooner you master eating , the sooner you shall attain an eternal body state . were along way away from this goal , and it shall probably take 100"s more bodies for each of us to master the physical laws of the universe but the sooner you start eating perfectly the sooner youll make it to an eternal body state . #2- and the opinion that i listen to concerning how to properly fuel your cells is nw walker , he wrote a book = raw vegi and fruit juices that is my base book , he was a chemist , nutritionist that came to fuel his body on raw plant matter and attained , in his most recent body , a body span of 118 years . so he proved his point . and even before i found out he attained that length of body span i thought he was making more sense than anyone . you can get this book mail order for $10 FROM NORWALK PRESS IN PRESCOT ARIZONA .

Heather...can you say that again please?? :D
Eating raw does NOT have to be about suffering and deprivation...especially with Alissa's approach and her book! Try not to look at is "what I can't have any longer" and look at what you will GAIN by eating healthy, natural foods.

Wow, suffering and deprivation huh? *looks over at the beautiful trays of organic oranges; the luscious grapes. Opens the fridge to wonderful raw lasange, the richness of homemade fudge; the plate of caramel coconut cookies and ice cold almond milk*. Sheesh! I must be doing something wrong if being raw is about suffering!!!
Personally, I don't understand the correlation between "feeling better" and "suffering" although, I know many here do as I read so many dramatic posts. I'm thinking many people need to change their mindsets about life in general. There was something I once read about "...the persuit of happiness... Well, it seems many might be persuing it yet, so few have actually chosen to have it ~ right here, right now. All it is is a decision. Don't ask me how I know.
*rambles off to play w/ her delightful food* :D

I agree! just make it raw!
get some good raw recipe books like Alissa's and make it raw.
check out the pictures at this site:

that doesn't look like suffering does it???
It does take some meal planning, but raw isn't just carrot sticks, salad and
juice.
Whenever I give in to cooked SAD cravings for pizza, taco's, sweets, etc..
I always feel like I am suffering...I feel really icky and yuck after I eat it,
and it is never tastes as good as I remember it. When I eat raw versions of these things I not only feel good, but satisfied too. No guilt and the
wonderful feeling of really nourishing my body.
I'm not sure where you live, but maybe there is a raw restaurant
to treat yourself too. Or carry some Lara Bars (available at Whole Foods)
with you
for when you have a sweet tooth and are not prepared.
Spend a weekend a month making crackers to have on hand for the whole month. A pizza or lasagna will last me about 5 or more meals.
I made a lasagna that took me a few hours to throw together and ate it for the rest of the week; even sharing it with others to taste.
I always keep some dates on hand for sweet cravings that hit.
Alissa had some good tips on this in her DVD with her fudge. Takes the edge off. Nut burgers help me with cooked cravings.
For me when I eat cooked is because I am not organized to have
some heartier raw foods on hand when I am hungry. So I stock my pantry with stuff
from www.goraw.com
I love their granola cereal. It's a hearty breakfast with some nutmylk.
Things like this are cheaper to make yourself of course, but
I need the convenience at times when I am super busy with the kids.
Hope that helps,
Best wishes on your raw journey. Don't give up ;)

Pril,
what kind of raw foods do you eat? are you eating enough of them???
you will definately feel deprived if you are not eating enough.
no need to suffer. Maybe we can make some more suggestions
if you let us know what your diet consists of.....

PRIL, you don't need to suffer!!! Does it look like your mom and grandma are suffering when they choose raw foods? I'd hate for that to be your example!!! You really need to come to our potluck later this month!

I wonder if maybe she/he means suffering as in detox...is that what you mean PRIL? If so, there's also a lot of ways to help with that.
Drink tons of water.
Eat things with flax. Flax absorbs many times it's weight in toxins. Get plenty of rest. All of these things help and I'm sure theres lots more people will add. Blessings on your jouney.
Thank you so much for your posts! What i mean is i dont know how to prepare regular meals, so to try something raw seems impossible, but i should get her book and try it. It all seems so overwhelming. I went to a dietician and she put me on a plan that includes my juicing but also includes some bread does that seem okay? thank you everyone

Here's a suggestion ~ either search here or google "raw food recipes" or "raw recipes" and find a bunch of things that sound good to you. Make about 3 of them. When those run out, find 3 more dishes. Get bunches of fruit that appeal to you. Keep it on hand on the counter ready to eat. Get lots of veggies that appeal to you ~ bagged baby carrots, celery, etc. Make sure it is cut up and available to you at all times. Go to a farmers' market or hfs and get some greens ~ already ready ~ a good spring mix. Put that in a bowl, add the cut up veggies, find and make an easy dressing (lots listed around here) and chow down. Don't make it more complicated than it is AND REMEMBER play with you food. :)
btw ~ nyet on the bread. I see no purpose in it.

I agree on the bread.
What would the purpose be of eating it? Unless it is raw bread, it cannot possibly have higher quality fiber and proteins than veggies and fruits and nuts...
I think the bread is a social norm, so it is automatically included in the eating plan.
As far as making regular meals goes...have you ever tried grazing all day? That is what I am finding seems to work for me. No "meals", just eating when I feel hungry. I grab and go a lot...so I leave fresh fruit and veggies within reach all day long, and I am finding it to be a relief because I don't spend time cooking all evening.
My best wishes to you! You can do it!

Do you get enough greens? I tried to be raw before, but I had awful cravings for cooked food starting second week.
Then I read Victoria's Boutenko book Green for Life about green smoothies, and now I use much more dark deep greens, and that takes care of all cravings, but social(in the parties), but these are nothing comparing to the ones you have when you don't get enough nutrients.
Did I mention - now I am raw for 7 weeks!
