Hi! I am just looking to meet with some people from the St. Louis area in the future who enjoy raw living. I just found this site this week and sadly, learned that there was a raw event on the 1st of this month. Hope to meet someone soon......

Well not in the St Louis area--but also in Missiouri. I am close to Sedalia. There are not to many raw friendly places out here except for the farmer's markets during the summer/fall. Would definately be up to a potluck--

Yes. We have a raw potlucks on the first Sunday of every month at Wild Oats at 5:00pm. We also have a raw meetup every month with rawfood preparation demos and discussion. You can meet more raw St. Louisans and keep posted of upcoming events by joining our Yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rawlivingnutrition/

I'm new here and would love to meet up with some RAW people. I joined the yahoo group today.
I *just* ordered Alissa's book & DVD (and a nutmilk bag AND the spiral slicer) tonight! I'm very nervous-excited :)
Feel free to write me here or drop an email if you are in this area and want to chat. Well, even if you are NOT in this area it's still cool.
I'm looking for a RAW buddy with a lot to lose. I'm 290 and should be around 150-180 so i have a ways to go.

I live in Troy so we are neighbors.... Green Earth is my *local* HFS. We will have to keep in touch ---- it would be incredible to have someone to try out RAW recipes with.
Have you ever done RAW before and how long have you known about it? I've known about it for quite awhile (2 years) and did it for only a couple weeks but was never able to get back to it. I'm going to tear thru the book when it arrives and start from there.
BTW... i'm almost 6'2" LOL! A full foot taller but with that much extra weight too. When shorter people lose weight it REALLY shows a big difference fast so that will be a HUGE motivator for you.

Hip Hip Hooray rawsistah... Who knows maybe one day we can find something nice and raw at green earth in the near future :D I've known about it for a while, the problem with me was acting on it, I had the books, did the research but still, I was hesitant to change..I don't think I was ever 100% raw (probably more like 70%) because I still steamed certain veggies...My other weakness was starches (addicted to any type of crackers- used to eat 1 or 2 packs all by myself)....Well, I am on the right track and envisioning the me I want to be. I been thinking of a way to start a group here locally for those of us who are embracing the raw way of life, I think it would be nice to have a variety of people at different points in their life and it would be a environment where we could vent, share, inspire each other, and share recipes...I don't know, still thinking it out, I will check into it on next month after I've finished my writing projects.. if you know of one that already exist in our area please let me know (i know there is one at Wild Oats but I would probably be late all the time by the time I finished working)..Have a great Monday
