I'm curently breastfeeding but would love to be 100% raw or close. But I know that if I detox the toxins will end up in my breast milk which could harm my baby. Is there a food I can take, raw or cooked, that would stop or slow the detox in order not to harm my child, but that I could still reap the benefits of a raw food diet.
Thanks for your help,
Michelle ;)

Yeah, here at the institute (creative health institute) we know that olive oil will seriously slow down, even stop, a detox. So go for it! :-) Surely there are other items, but it should help.

Hi Migrou.
Well, I know that eating fats (like Ertarox said) helps slow it down. I was thinking about like nuts and nut-based recipes, seeds, avocado, etc.
I breastfeed and have had no problems except when I eat things I should not. But eating raw won't harm your baby via breastmilk. I DID harm my 6 year old when I nursed her because my diet was VERY poor. My diet caused my baby to contract a very severe case of eczema that she just got rid of a year or so ago when I changed her diet.
Baby will be fine. Eating raw does bring about detox, but it occurs at a slow rate...slower than if you were to do a fast or juice cleanse. That is why I'm always so reluctant to fast or cleanse because I'm still nursing my (almost) 2 year old son.
So as Eratrox said...go for it!! ;)

Good for you Rawkinlocs, for nursing your (almost) 2 yr old! :) More women need to follow your rawkin example! :)

I will try adding more fats to my diet. In the form of nuts and avocado and occasionnaly a bit of olive oil.
I appreciate your answers!!
Have a great day!
Michelle
