I have been hearing alot about ionized water. A few friends of mine are drinking Rocky Mountains Best. It is bottled concentrated and you have to dilute. If you want to research it, the website is www.RockyMountainsBest.com

I have not yet used this brand but when I have had ionized water, I do start to detox. I have not stuck with the water long enough to see real healing but I do believe there is something to ionized water.

I wouldn't drink distilled water, because it is considered to be dead water. It has been boiled and filtered (I think) to remove any foreign substances. It is used in various chemical experiments, becuase it doesn't contain anything that can interact with the chemicals you are using. Filtering water removes impurities, but doesn't remove minerals and other good things that might be in the water.

I can not understand how you can dilute water. You would have to use water to dilute it so what type do you use for the diluting. I am perplexed.

We have been using a water ioniser attached to our kitchen faucet. It produces alkaline water which has been oxygenated. It tastes great and is so much more economical than buying distilled or bottled water.

I've read that this water is the best:
Fiji Artisian Water (http://www.fijiwater.com/)

Tap water is ionized, as is pond water, as is rain water, as is sewer water. Do you mean de-ionized? If someone is selling you "ionized" water, I hope it's your utility company.

There is a great deal of information of water both in the archives of this forum, on the internet, and in book form. Very quickly -- bottled waters (Trinity, Fiji, Evian in glass bottles) are all good. Tap water is not. Do a little research; it's well worth the time and energy you put in. I agree that it can be quite confusing and seem contradictory, though. Perhaps you can contact some friends or acquaintances whose eating habits and lifestyle choices you respect locally and talk to them.

Sorry I've no quick answer for you as this is an area I haven't gotten clear on myself. In the meantime, I drink the above-mentioned bottles water.

Quite disappointed with Trinity--I did a PH level test on their water and in came back at 6 and they claim it to be 9.6!!!!!!! My tap water tested better than it--I definately don't drink tap water but jsut wanted to make sure my test strips were still accurate.

Yikes!!! That's not good at ALL!! I'll try my test strips on a bottle, too; maybe it was a random problem -- or maybe that's just my wishful thinking!

Is mineral or spring water raw?

Forgive me, but I'm really confused by this question.

Ummm ... are you actually asking if water has been cooked?

If not, can you rephrase so I can understand what you mean by "raw" when applied to water?

Hi Raw Truth,

I just meant is bottled water classed as raw, as in it has not been altered in any way (heated) from when it has been taken from its source. If one is raw and is drinking bottled water, are they still 100% raw?

Thanks

Thanks Rawpriestess.

Water still has a life force though as we can change the patterns in water with our thoughts, so in that case, can it be regarded as living and having consciousness?

Hi Rawpriestess.

Water is not raw, it is hydrogen and oxygen burned this is what makes water, that is why it won't burn again.

Also, water by itself has no enzymes, it may contain enzymes from things in the water, but water H20 is not clasified as a food, or living or having enzymes.

Yes, Angelic Light, you can still consider yourself raw if you are eating raw & living foods and drinking bottled water. Just choose the best water you can get.

This is important, but I think drinking water is over emphasized. I don't eat a ton of fruit, but one day I did, with grapefruit, papaya, apples, and I wasn't thirsty at all, and I was full of energy as a bonus. The best water you can get is the water that comes with high water content food. You don't have to drink much water, almost none really, if if high water content food dominate your diet.

Brad -- I agree with you, but this usually happens after you've been all raw for a while and your body has mostly detoxified AND if you're eating almost all fruits, veggies, and greens. If eating dehydrated foods, Nama Shoyu, etc., your body still needs the water to rehydrate and to equalize the other foods.

I find if I eat loads of fresh veggies and fruit and green drinks (limit dehydrated foods) then I need less water. I drink about 1.5 liters a day. When I was eating my High Protein I need MORE then a gallon a day.

I spent about 8 years in the water business so I think I have an above average knowledge.

Raw water? Don't know if you can really say any water qualifies as raw or not raw. Though distilled water is boiled and then condensed leaving it with absolutly nothing in it.

I have read enough periodicals to know that you should NEVER be drinking tap water. Mmaximum contamination levels set by the government are controled by tecknowlegy (SP) and economics. If they cannot deliver safe water economically they will issue some new study and change the standards.

Most bottled waters are run through a reverse osmosis system. Many of the companies then add minerals back into the water for flavor. Personally I will only buy waters that do not have minerals readded. I prefer the pure taste.

The safest and most economical way to provide your family with water is an under the counter reverse osmosis system.

You can get a good 5 stage system at places like Costco or Sam's club. There are also companies that will rent them to you and take care of the service. When I rented them it was $20 a month and I tokk care of all the filter changes and service.

Hope that answers some of you and if you have more questions feel free to e-mail me

Jim

water is such a complex issue. I could type for days on it, but I think my .02 would be to look at what is available in your area, and make the best decision for you from there.

There are problems with bottled waters - in North America the quality of bottled waters is highly unregulated.

EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS GOOGLE: "bottled water" bromate carcinogenic.

Bromide in the water through the sterilization process turns to bromate. I personally avoid ALL bottled waters that are ozonized, ozonated, oxygenated, etc... (besides ozone is O3 which can produce free radicals due to unstable electron bonds, but that's another story)

during the disinfection process, ozone can oxidize naturally occurring bromide( Br–) raw water to bromate (BrO3–).

Environmentalists have begun recommending to people to drink tap water. They also say that at least it is tested and regulated.

There is a book that is supposed to be good on this subject called "Inside the Bottle". I heard a radio documentary with its author. That might be worth checking out online.

If you're not aware, when Dasani (owned by Coca Cola) was planning a big launch into the UK, they had to recall their ENTIRE UK supply because the UK rejected it containing more bromate, thought to be a human carcinogen, than legally permitted in the UK.

If you have a reasonably decent source that you could purify further yourself if needed, that would be my suggestion to look into it. If you can't afford a RO, something like a BRITA may help, I just personally wouldn't drink a lot of bottled water that could be high in bromate or who knows what else. Maybe it's possible to choose your bottled water carefully, but I would imagine most go through some sort of sterilization process to allow it to sit around in bottles without getting "swampy". Some are even just processed municipal waters!

I think it's an unfortunate reality of our times that it is difficult for many to get a good clean source of water. I'll never forget when I lived in L.A. and we had to shoot a scene involving watercraft, we went to the drinking water reservoir  . There we found lots of people with jet skis and all sorts of motorized gas-burning "pleasurecraft" out buzzing around in the drinking water, leaving trails of oil/gas the way you see it behind boats. I'm hoping they don't do that anymore!

Maybe you live in a relatively unpolluted mountainous area, where that is what your municipality starts from for its water, that might be in your case better than some bottled waters for you. Maybe your town gets it from an underground aquifer that could be a fairly decent source, instead of a polluted lake. If you wished to purify those sources further yourself, that might be a better choice in your case than a bottle.

Also, to avoid chlorine from municipal water, it will dissipate out of water if you leave it out, stir occasionally.

Anyway, just some things to look into. The answer might be different for each of us depending on what's available. I think the point needs to be made that all bottled waters are not necessarily the automatic best choice. And for me I won't drink any ozonated, oxygenated waters.

Good luck to all on this one. Not that I agree with everything from Dr. Weill, but he really recommends people take some time to look into their water.
