Oh Thank God for New Years and fresh starts! I cannot believe where I have let myself get... AGAIN!

Well, one of my New Year's resolutions is NOT beating myself up over foolish eating, but I am needing to get back on track, that is for sure. I feel so lethargic, bloated, moody (depression has returned big time), and am having a recurrance of some bothersome/worrisome female symptoms, etc.

I amaze myself at how great I was doing and wonderful I was feeling and then KERPLUNK.... Well, I have worked this past week on weeding out my "cheating" moments where I find myself doing excessive nibbling, binge eating, overeating, etc. I have put back on about 6 lbs.... UGH... feels like 20!

I have found a new awesome juice and its great - I juice together a couple apples, one lemon (no rind), some kale, broccoli, and cucumber.... SOOOOOOOo delicious! Really gives me a boost and energy lift. Anyway, not sure why I put that in, but someone might want to try it and find they like it too!

Anyway... Have to get back in the swing of things and start hanging out on the board again so I can get positivity and encouragement....

You know, as silly as it sounds, that is the most comforting thing is knowing that I am NOT the only one in the "same boat". LOL, maybe that is why I am learning not the berate myself for bad decisions, but rather move past them.

I know I am healing every time I put frest, live food in my mouth. I look at the misery I felt on Christmas day after eating SAD foods... whew, I sure have not missed that feeing.

Anyway... thanks for the responses. As I sit here eating my... quite huge... salad, I know this year will start better than last year ended!

You have a great attitude! You'll definitely get there. It can be a lifelong journey but it is so worth it! Even just the character that you gain through not giving up is worth it!

Happy New Year!

with each bite of whole, live healthy food we take, we are there. For me there are no goals, just this moment. This is the only one I am responsible for. Right here, right now. The path was too steep and daunting for me when viewed it in its entirety. I grew weary from the tought of the journey. Now I marvel at each step, each "success" and each "blunder".
More then you can do it...you are doing it!!
peace with where you are-

I just want everyone to know that I am happy to be here and I believe this year will produce much joy for all of us. Thanks for all your inspiration. I am new to the site and still browsing around. I just happened to type in a search and that's how how found out about the book and this site. It is time, it has been time for a long while now - I think salvation is on the way

I just started going raw vegan and my doctor who is a raw vegan as well, recommended in one of his weekly free lectures, raw virgin coconut oil.

I felt great within a half hour, with tons of energy and started detoxing within a day. It also eliminated any cravings for junk food or meat.

As for female problems, since going raw and coconutty, I just goot my period, but only a couple of spots and absolutely no cramps or pms. I have read that going raw does wonders for the female cycle.

good luck

I'm in the same boat too. Been on and off raw/SAD since about Thanksgiving.

I'm feeling physically not at my best either. Lethargy, aches, constipation, asthma, etc.

Heck, falling off is just part of the journey. And it's a new year, right? I'm just grateful to be raw again! Thank goodness for raw food!

Karen, how do you take your coconut oil? I have only found one recipe that actually is a chocolate...like Easter chocolate that was on the boards here. I would like another way to "take" it, not that eating chocolate is bad.....

I put it on raw living flaxseed crackers. I love the taste. I put on 1-2 tablespoons. I've lost about 5 pounds in a week and a half.

I buy the crackers at a raw foods restraunt that is owned by a vegan doctor. :)
