I am new to raw food and raw food talk. I've been a vegetarian for 5 years and was looking for new recipes and books when I came accross raw food books at amazon.com. I ordered one (The Complete Book of Raw Food) but found it too complicated and put it on the shelf where it collects dust now. Then I started to search more online about raw food and came across Alissa's web site. I finally ordered the book and dvds which I received about a week ago. The whole concept doesn't seem so complicated anymore after watching the DVDs.
I don't have any health problems, but I guess I should loose about 10 pounds. Most of the foods in the recipes I really like (i.e. avocados, carrots, oranges, nuts...) so I am excited to try them. Two of the staple foods I don't like: bananas and sea weed. Oh well, still plenty of other options.
Here is something funny: I decided about 2.5 years ago that I put my dog on 100% raw food. I read about it and found that would be healthiest for her. And she is doing great on this diet. Healthier than before - no more expensive vet bills! Somehow it didn't cross my mind that raw would be good for me too! Go figure.
Well, I wish everyone a happy, healthy year 2006.
