Hi All~

I have made the decision to come back, full-on to a 100% Raw way of eating and have made the commitment to start on january 1st. The time is growing short and I know there are so many others who have made the same commitment.

I have spent my last unRAW day shopping for veggies and making flax seed crackers in my dehydrator. I have nuts to soak and seeds to spout and eight avacados ripening. I have done more reading than I did when I took the plunge in May and I am full ready to commit myself to this new and healthy way of being.

I am appreciating my aches and pains, the way my jeans are too snug. I am appreciating my gas pains and my dry skin. I know all of these things will be getting better soon. I am even appreciating my hip pain and the restless sleep I have been having lately.

I am so thankful for having found this way of living and I am blessed to be able to dive in, I am going to cannonball into this, full steam ahead. And on my last night of being unRAW, I am going to eat my last transition meal and think about how wonderful it is going to be to get away from my obssessions to food and my binging.

May all of us remember our motivation and always know we can come to this place for more support when we wonder why we are eating differently than everyone around us. And may we not reward our achievements with food and may we realize that holiday and family gatherings do not have to focus on foods.

And to top it off, be eating raw and doing this amazingly wonderful thing for our own bodies, we are sparing hundreds upon thousands of helpless animals from being destined for our plates.

Bless all of us and Bless the new and heathlier year we are all embarking on together.

Peace & Love~Vanessa :-)

RawResolution, that was a joy to read ... eloquent and inspirational. Many of us have made similar resolutions for the big day tomorrow; as we all in our respective time zones and locales edge cautiously toward the final countdown, I hope we can draw strength and wisdom from one another to network, to bond, and ultimately to create a more abundant life -- one of optimum health, boundless energy, and astonishing happiness. Happy, happy New Year, everyone.

Now, with that said ...

Bring on 2006 and let the games begin! *:D*!!

Glad to see someone else starting 2006 in a positive frame of mind. I lost 90lbs between Sept 2004 and April 2005 and since August 2005 I have put 40lbs back on.

I cannot stick to a traditional English diet because when I have to cut things out, I feel deprived and give up. With raw eating, you don't have to 'not eat' things - everything is good!!

I am taking the plunge by trying to go 100% raw from 1st January. My meat-eating husband thinks I'm mad but I want to prove to him that people can live in a much healthier way without having to cook meat and veggies. We should save money too as I won't be buying the rubbish I used to eat before.

Vanessa, please post regular updates on your progress.

Best wishes for a 'fruitful' 2006.

Tracy

Hi every one! I am very happy about this message board. I feel that we all can be a strength to one another. We are all supporting each other in a lifestyle of optimal health and I really think that is great. I am starting my RAW FOOD JOURNEY today jan1. I am courantly munching on some grapes. My question to you is this what are some of your best raw food recipes. and how does the jamica fries actually taste?

Hi All~

I am so excited about today and thank you for so many replies! Let's keep eachother going! I had a banana and some raw almond butter for breakfast and will now have some grapes. :-)

I hope we are all doing our best to cleanse our systems and transform into beautiful butterflies! :-)

Hello All ~ :)

I'm new to this forum. I want to reply to this post b/c I have also decided to make the big 100% raw change starting...now. I tested myself last week and did nearly 5 days @ 100% before last night (New Years Eve). As I ate my "cooked" items due to limited variety (Johnny Carinos) I remembered why I don't want that stuff anymore!!!! We had big plans to eat out at Cafe Gratitude (fab raw restaurant) in San Fransisco for dinner before going out dancing, but traffic was so backed up it took 3 HOURS to go what usually takes 20 mins!!!! So, adjustments had to be made. I've been eating 50-90% raw, fluxuating since '99; I'm ready to full on try this 100% raw thing for 30 days in January. Of course, I'd like to continue after that at 100%, but I don't want to put that pressure on myself.

After years of reading many different types of philosophy on raw food eating -I think what is simple is best. I hope posting here on a regular basis will help me focus and journal my thoughts. I'm still figuring out the forum, how to post, etc., so bear with me :)

Please wish me luck! I'm still happy (after almost 7 years) to be doing this. To know about raw eating, grateful that it clicked in my mind as being a truth; what a life-enhancing tool!!

Amanda (Mandalyn)
