hiya, smelly ... I'm in Sunnyvale ... hopefully we'll get more NorCal folks on the bandwagon ... most of the Californians I see online are LA/Orange County, so this is cool :)

I see lots of us started the Raw Challenge yesterday ... how is everyone feeling? Thoughts? Problems? Obstacles?
I'm doing great so far; today's just the second day so I'm not waving the victory banner just yet. But it's 1 down, 29 to go, so that's not a bad start http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c193/emoticonsgallery/shades_smile.gif ... for some reason I'm craving raw, whole cashews and dried cranberries. Hope the rain lets up soon so I can go to Whole Foods for some vittles http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c193/emoticonsgallery/teeth_smile.gif
Is anybody in/near the flood zones? It's all over the news.
01-04-2006, 09:35 AM
Hey Grubby, no flooding here but I sure am glad to see the sun out this morning...REALLY GLAD! :D
How are you doing on ummm, day 4? I'm still with you and feeling fine.
Hope you get out to whole foods for some fun in the sun.
Have a super day.

here in San Francisco - middle of town in Dubose Triangle, just outside the Castro. best part of being in this area is that Golden Produce is less than 3 blocks away!
have not taken the leap into the 30 day quite yet - have a hubby-type that is taking a little more convincing than i would like - but an effort has begun at any rate.
01-05-2006, 06:43 PM
Aw - GreyWolf you've just reminded me of how much I miss living in SF. I used to shop at Golden Produce all the time - carting my bags of groceries on whatever form to train or bus I was riding that day. . . .
Someday I will convince DBF that N Cal is the place to be and get him to move with me from S Cal. . .LOL

I was just doing a search on where to find the best raw produce in the bay area or in north california in general because I recently moved to sunnyvale. I actually live in Santa Clara (just outside Sunnyvale though) and I'm working in Sunnyvale.
I'm only here for 4 months, but I'm looking for any raw food potlucks or any raw food talk get togethers that we can have! I've been raw for over 9 months and recently had a holiday slip up but I'm back on track now and I'm so glad to be in beautiful california! :D
I'll be visiting Cafe Gratitude the first chance I get!

Hi guys. I'm in San Francisco. I get e-mails for SF live food potlucks, but have yet to go to one. There is one coming up this Sunday afternoon. I think there is also a separate meetup group for the south bay. I'd brave a potluck if someone else from here goes too!

I'm in Modesto!

Hello, I'm Linda. I'm in San Jose. So glad to meet you all. I will definitely attend potluck if there's one. I've been high raw for about 9 months, originally started because of acne.

Glad to see there are some NoCal folks - especially San Francisco. I live near the Panhandle/Haight-Ashbury. I just started going raw a few weeks ago. I am feeling great and trying to live with my impatience about my body's changes.
Everyone is welcomed to contact me. I'd love some new raw food friends in the city and thereabouts.

Hi, I'm from Gilroy, California!
01-15-2007, 10:45 PM
If you do a search for San Francisco Living Foods yahoo group, you will be able to find the S.F. raw foodists e-mailing system.
There are potlucks in San Mateo and Pescadero also. To get on the Pescadero mailing list, contact Alicia at Queserawseraw.com -- Alicia has a wonderful raw food store in Burlingame on Capuchino Ave off of Broadway (near El Camino). It is worth a trip to get her kale salad, lemon cheesecake and her Mermaid Soup (you have to like seaweed for the mermaid soup).

You will not believe this, but about a month ago, I somehow found the Queserawseraw.com site and was telling my husband about it, he works in South San Francisco and was going to ask him to pick up some dinner on his way home. BUT, this week, I tried searching for it (I had forgotten the name of the place) and could never find it!
Thanks so much for replying and giving me that information!
