How do you handle your job while you are fasting. Obviously, it's not possible to stop working for a whole week to do a fast, let alone 2 or 3 weeks. Is it hard/impossible to work, especially in an office setting(ie, little physical activity) while on a fast?

Hi Meteor!

Message from the stars ;) ................

I would suggest starting fast on Wed or Thursday morning. That way you are home (weekend) when the typical hardest detox day starts which is the 3rd to 5th day---not for eveyone but typically.

As far as physciall stamnia.........it doesn't hurt to tell your co workers and boss what isgoing on and that it is for health purposes and you will do the best you can to function.

Do your work with a steady breath dont' feel pressured block out all noises, disruptions etc so you can be centered and in close connection with your body...........emotional detox can be abrupt and scare those around you.........it's intense yet an awakening.

I tend to flush every morning and Joy in our site, doesn't use any type of eliminator depends on what you feel is right for you........i can actually feel toxins loosening adn what pattern they flow so as soon as they make its way to my colon, I feel it and I HAVE to flush otherwise.......BAM! I'm gone :o

What kind of fast are you attempting to do? I believe there are juices that can be prepared in advance....if you do a juice fast, I would try to do a combo fo greens and fruit to sustain energy and sanity !!!!! ;)

I guess this question sometimes surprises me because in my opinion and from my own personal experiences, you can get DOUBLE the work done in HALF the time while fasting. When I am working and fasting, I have found these things to be true:

1) clearer mind
2) tons of energy
3) little sleep but feeling very rested (I have stayed up for 24 hours straight before and then have worked)
4) Pick up new tasks and assignments in a short span of time (I fasted for 4 days before being trained on a new project, and someone commented to me after the training, 'no one's picked up this stuff as fast as you have.') Why? Clear body = clear mind

In the beginning of fasting, I was a little tired on the 2nd day but on the 3rd day, look out world! Here I come! (I'm full of energy by the 2nd day now)

Today was my 2nd day on the MC and I had no problem being able to work yesterday or today. I actually focused better and was glad to be busy so I could get my mind off of food! I agree with the post before me. Fasting gives you a clearer mind. The first time I did a juice fast I was waitressing and I began to work double shifts because I had so much energy!! I made so much money and my house was spotless too! I accomplished so much more during periods of fasting. Not having the distraction of food is a nice break too. You know, not having to prepare anything or clean up or take the time to eat. Right now I'm using my lunch hour to clean, play with my puppies, run errands or whatever! If you do the Salt water flush, which I am, you do need to be near a bathroom for a couple of hours after drinking it so I just drink it when I get up at 6:am and then by the time I go to work at 9:am I am okay. :D Good Luck!!

The fasting seems to have the same reaction on me... meaning I am able to focus and accomplish more and prioritize better.

Me too! I'm on Day 3 of a MC and just like last time I did this,I am full of energy, my mind is clear and I am so focused that I've gotten tons of work done today. And..my house is picked up and in order. I feel fabulous and get so much done with much less sleep.
I am focusing on how my body is getting a much needed rest from digesting foods that --ahem--shall we say , are not in her best interest. LOL Makes me realized how hard I make my body work when I don t feed her correctly.
I've had a lot of "food thoughts" yesterday and less so today, but my left brain/logical mind, really wants me to eat. Not going there! I am happy to be doing this for myself.
