I've been eating upwards of four GoRaw bars a day. My favorites are granola, and I also like the pumpkin seed. They are just sooo good. Anyone else addicted?
I've had a rough few months. I ate a lot of SAD food and gained some weight. I fell into a deep depression which I'm still trying to climb out of. I think I'm back on track now. I juice fasted today, and I have flax seed crackers dehydrating.
I plan on getting my sprouts going too.
I think I'll be able to taper off my GoRaw bars once I'm back on a more balanced diet. On my "good" days during the last few months, I would eat all fruit and GoRaw bars all day, where before I would eat lots of dark leafy greens and a wide variety of vegetables. I'm getting there. I'm headed in the right direction.
I hope all of you are doing well in your raw lifestyles.

I love GoRaw bars too. I eat about one a day either as a snack on the go
or as a breakfast substitute in a hurry. I eat the granola and pumpkin seed
one too, as well as the apricot flax, and the spiralina (sp?) one.
it's all good.

Love them!

Don't know exactly what they are but if they comntain dates I would have a problem with overeating them. However many dates I buy they are usually gone in a few days at the most. Good thing the HFS that sells them is 2 hrs awaw. I have looked for Laurabars at the closer HFS since they have many bars but not Larabars. Thought if I couldn't get dates there I could get them in the form of bars. Oh well. Probably best.

So being addicted to the GoRaw bar is not such a bad thing...now if you said addicted to Snickers Bar...well then you would be in trouble. Raw is good and should not be considered an addiction anyway right ?!! just love for a raw food... :D

the goraw.com site has all the info on the ingredients for there various products, and a few have nutritional info. The nice thing about goraw is that they have products with no dates !

My health food store only carries the crackers (no call for the raw stuff) so looks like I will have to order.

Well ... raw food is good food.

Anything can be over eaten. I know that if I had free access to anything containing dates I would be in huge trouble. Especially medjool dates which to me taste like congealed maple syrup. There is a term for them that I'm not quite sure of at the moment ... double bonded sugar. They can through the body's sugar levels for a loop. Some diabetics just starting raw can't eat them for that reason.

IMO I could be just as addicted to them as an alcoholic is to alcohol. I'm sure if one looked hard enough there is a raw alcohol somewhere. It would not be a good thing for a recovering alcoholic though.

Just some thoughts,

Doe,

Well of course this is true. My response to veggiemel was as such as she did not mention she was addicted in quite the fashion you mention. I understood her post to say she was eating them as a renbound/transition type food.

I do know what you mean about the runaway sugar. I do not eat any dates or figs for that reason. I will sub with prunes in recipes as they do not cause the blood sugar issues with me. You may want to try making your own bars with prunes.

Unfortunatly the LaraBars all use dates, so I do not eat them either.

I didn't mean I was literally addicted. lol. Perhaps compulsive is a better word. But now that I have my own crackers in the dehydrator, I'm much less tempted by GoRaw bars. Funny, it seems like everyone is crazy about Lara bars. I've tried every flavor, and they just don't taste good to me.

the GoRaw bars are much less sweet than compared to the Lara bars; they
do sweeten them slightly though; just not as heavy as Lara Bars.
What I love about them is they sprout all the seeds and grains before
making their products. It makes it more worthwhile for me spending the extra
money on them becuase of this. You save the biggest savings by
buying them by the case too.

VeggieMel, I was talking about my problem with dates, not you honey. Sorry if it sounded that way.
