Someone asked me for pictures a while ago and I havenÂ’t had the time to get them into my computer. I didnÂ’t wasnÂ’t to take up space posting them here so you can view them at this link. You donÂ’t have to sign up, just click viewÂ…
These sculptures are made entirely of clay. I form the faces first and the rest comes. pretty much everything i make for them is out of clay except for the clothes.
The tooth goddess is the latest one...

so cool! you are very talented! do you sell them or are they part of your family?

HA! yes, they are hard to part with because they do feel like a part of me!

I sold all of them except for India and the tooth goddess. They are new ones that i did this year. The others were from a couple of years ago. i donÂ’t have much time lately to make them but its my 'therapy' and im getting back into it even though im getting busier with the raw food business.
They start at around 1400.00 each depending on the size. They can reach 12 inches high but im going to be doing larger ones as i feel like thatÂ’s where they are leading me!

Thanks for checking them out, they are quite characters, talking to me the whole time i dress them telling me what and who they are. i know it sounds strange but i feel like they channel themselves through me so i can the create their physical form.

i know what you mean by them talking to you, that is so cool. I can just see life-size coming out of these, maybe a rawsome chef in your kitchen holding a tray for you to serve crackers on or something...they are great and I see the personality jumping out of them.

Oh thanks so much! ya, they all have little personalities to me.
That is actually a great idea! Maybe that will be my next one!
thanks!

Wow Alissa.... I have tried to make things from clay, and all I end up with is a bunch of blob... very impressive! Especially the faces... that is so cool how you make them look like people and not claymation from Nick Jr.... And wow, $1400 each! I remember being in Art class in high school and we did a pottery course... Yikes, something that appears to be so easy is definitely not the case- that the 'supposed vase' that was supposed to be forming within my hands-- turned into a plate. I just beat the heck out of it because I got so frustrated with the wheel...

I hope that you find the time to discover your hobby again... it is obvious in the detail of your work that you truly give yourself to the figure and get lost in the fantasy...

Alissa...wonderful work! Thank you so much for sharing this side of yourself with us. Are your sculptures made of polymer clay?

Alissa

Alissa,

These are amazing sculptures,,,,,,,,,my next question was going to be "How much do they go for?" Well out of my price range but some lucky people out there have those pieces. I Looooooooove the Meditation one (!!!!!) Obviously one of a kind artwork. Are you comtemplating on featuring your work in a gallery at all?

luv,
linda

Alissa,
"i can see it now........whisked away on a white horse. Hair flowing down and carrying a basket full of raw fruits and veggies." :p

On a serious note, how did you become inspired to scuplt these figures? did you invision the characters like this or they becmae this way?

I've never seen sculpture work quite like this--they're animated yet whimsical.

luv,
linda :)

I would love to see them as well. I've always been really intrigued with pottery and would love to be able to try to do in on a regular basis.

I clicked on her links and I am getting "Page Not Found" :(
