Hello all, just popping in to introduce myself! My name is Anne, I am a homeschooling mom from Texas. I discovered this site while looking for health and nutrition information, and had a huge "A Ha" moment! :D

I have had declining health for a few years. You know, the kind where you feel awful but there is "nothing wrong" with you (according to the doctors).

I have very sore and aching joints -- especially my hands -- I swear I can hardly turn doorknobs, and forget opening jars! My eyes hurt a lot, headaches, plus extreme, WAY extreme -- fatigue, that kind of thing. The doctors just say, "you're a mom, and moms get tired". Well, sure -- but this is different, it's more like I feel like an unhealthy 85 year old than the 34 year old I really am.

I am convinced it has everything to do with the food I eat. I am completely addicted to junk food, mostly fried and fatty foods like McDonalds and such. The funny thing is, the thought of these foods now kinda make me sick, but then I crave them mightily and eat them anyway!

Sure, I could lose some weight -- but primarily I want to be healthy and filled with energy and a "zest" for life. I want to be a more active person and wife and mother!

And of course, I really want a healthier way of eating for my kids, too -- but that's another story for another place on the forum.

I have been reading these boards for a couple of weeks now, am ordering Alissa's book, and will probably jump in to the other areas of the forum with lots of questions!

Looking forward to a new, healthy life! Here's to health and joy for all of us in 2006!
Best,
Anne

Hey and welcome! You are on the right track when you say that the food that you're eating is causing your problems. I started feeling that way and I am only 18 (mine were from food sensativities b/c i never ate junk food). I went raw and now it's mostly gone unless i slip and eat a bad raw food for me. The cravings can be caused by sensativities to foods. When cutting them out of your diet the first 3-5 days are the hardest in terms of cravings, but once you get past that they don't even appeal to you. This is different for every person, but along the same lines I believe. I suggest you try the 30 or 90-day challenge! You'll see great improvement and be amazed.

Great
I list the absense of stiffness on other treads as one of the benifits I experienced after going raw so I wish the same for you and lots more good things as well. Welcome to the raw life.

Thanks for the warm welcome, ya'll (Texas term there, LOL)! I sure do hope I lose the joint stiffness and pain, what a wonderful benefit that would be!
Best,
Anne
