PEACE,

I know there's a bunch of them out here, but i wanna be able to go to the best, most affordable one and take my mother out there with me. Especially before this winter break is up and i head back down south for school.
Any suggestions???

I was well aware of the strike. I was just planning this for sometime next week if possible. Hopefully, by then the strike would be over.
I'll definitely look into those links. Thanks a lot..

Peace, did you try any restaurants ? I noticed you are in somewhat upstate NY. There is a greatRaw food place in woodstock NY www.woodstockintheraw.com and also a vegan place in Pinebush NY that I now hear has a raw food menu ! It's called PureCity .

My DH and I are trying it this week but I am going to call first to confirm they have raw food on the menu.

I'm about 20 minutes from Pine Bush (in Newburgh).
I have yet to try out any at all!! I wanna take my mother and sister to one. I've heard of the ones in Manhattan, but if one is closer it may be more convenient, not to mention a lot cheaper!
Thanks a lot mbf.

You've got it! Those are my 2 main stores of choice. Nature's Pantry is fabulous and is literally right around the corner from me (3 minute drive), and Adam's has the raw nuts! Enough said!

Haven't been anywhere else though. I'm wondering if there is perhaps another spot i could go to, to possibly see even more variety as far as raw, organic fruits and vegetables are concerned. Have you heard of any other local area spots!???

Pure Food and Wine gets my vote. They always have fresh truffles on hand :)

I just heard of a place by the Mid- Valley mall ? I am going to get ovet there this week. I called and they do have organic produce.

On rt 208 heading between Washingtonville and Monroe there is Blooming Hill farm http://www.bloominghillfarm.com/csa.html that is the website, of course they have very little selection right now but they are open on weekends. It is a wonderful organic farm that has a huge selection of greens...in the spring of course. In woodstock in a nice place called sunflower market, bigger the natures pantry and lot's of hard to find organic fruits and veggies.

I am heading over to Pleasant Stone Farm in Middletown www.pleasantstonefarm.com I need Chlorella and he carries the brand I use. They have raw nuts and some supplies but very pricy and no fresh produce. But is great for herbs seasonings and supplements ( hemp powder, flax etc)

Have you made a lot of Raw recipes ? Have you had success ?

Thanks for that information, i didin't realize there were that many local area spots. As for me, i've experimented with a zucchini-lasagna recipe, which turned out very good, i've also made the mock turkey loaf which was excellent, however, it made me a little sick afterwards due to either one of 2 things. Either i ate too much of it, or my body wasn't able to adjust to the combination of the ingredients of it. I think it was a little bit of both.
But whoa, that recipe was absolutely delicious!

Thanks again for the input!

And i'll definitely be looking into the Pure Food and Wine restaurant in the near future.
