Hi @ all!

I want to start next year - sounds far away, but is only 10 days away *g* - with going Raw.

My question is if anyone of you started with supplements or if you just changed to raw food???
I wonder if it is better to go with enzymes???

I'm a sugar junky - but my blood parameters (is that the right expression?) are ok, no problems at all - so I thought it might be a good idea for going with enzymes for the detoxication??!!

Thanx for helping me out.

Ana

(P.S. Sorry for bad english, I'm from germany)

Enzymes are a great idea! Especially as you change your diet, as they will help you transition easily to a new level of fibre and food and aid your digestion so much as it works to improve. They also are fabulous for weightloss and cleansing, since they contain the enzyme lipase, which breaks down fat
(where a lot of toxins are stored)

Make sure they are vegan and high quality.
Alissa sells top quality digestive enzymes on her website. She also sells therapeutic enzymes, which are WOW.

Best wishes with your raw journey~

Personally, I don't use supplements of any kind yet, not living in Germany and/or knowing the quality of your food, I don't feel to advise on what you might wish to do. Additional enzymes can't possibly hurt.

Curious though. My husband is from Denmark and most of the food we got there was imported and quite expensive. We were easily able to get organically grown oranges and quite a bit of other produce. Is that viable for you also? Meaning available, organic and affordable? (He was making quite good money there so affordable for us yet, not for many others).

Hm, revvell, in germany you can get organically food... it's not that much more expensive than the "toxicated" food. What I've seen so far - might change when I get deeper into it.

Sweetgoddes, I saw it, and that's what actually brought me to the idea - seeing this therapeutic enthymes ... but the shiping to germany is quite expensive. Personally I've learned that supplements from the states have a higher dosis as in germany (might be forbidden) and therefore have a better effect.

Hm.... have to think about it ...
maybe starting in Jan without and put them on in Feb ??!!??

"toxicated" food

That's a new one, I'll have to look it up.

And therapeutic enzymes are a ridiculous notion IMO. The complexity of your bodies own mechanisms distrubuting the right amount and proportion of enzymes are only crippled by introducing these products. Just get with the program and let your body work it out. Let it make the adjustments without hampering it's abilities to do so.

Hm, cornvalley, maybe you're right - but I understand that my body from the wrong habbits in eating is already not so good in producing the right amount of anything.
So why don't give him a little help???

I don't know... can't decide yet... need to get more information on that.

And again: Sorry for wrong words :o :o :o (like toxicated... should be venomed/poisened but not really fits in what I want to say  )

i think supplements can be helpful depending on situations.........

like myself who has recently discovered that i am suffering from leaky gut syndrome (since april 2005), uses herbal supplements. i am just now starting to get healing at a point where eating a whole apple is not irritating--although not damaging per se. i am also using herbal supplements to carry on the lymph cleansing b/c of my symptoms.

i do know that folks like myself may need assistance in certain digestive enzymes until digestive structure is reestablished. so i would say it depends. like others have said, it can be helpful transitioning into raw. :)

No help is needed for the bodily processes to adjust ..... and, I understand what you are trying to describe, though poisoned/venomed is to borrow meaning from things there are truly injurious. Are you refering to pesticide residues, inorganic methods of food production, or both? While less desirable usually, these things cannot and should not be classed in the same category as intoxicated, poisonous, venomous. It does a diservice to items that truly warrant those attributes, don't you think?

i believe that there are times when one's health-is affecting major parts of their life or the conditon is debilitating that assistance in supplements are necessary to ease or faciliate the healing process to create a clear defined path of direction. Myself, I was raw during the time of health crisis but I was getting worse and not saying that raw foods made me worse but as complicated as my situation was and time becoming an issue, I reverted to herbal supplements. I am healing nicely and raw foods are more effective because of the assistance.

Hm, as I have to say that since Okt 2004 I have a flu becoming a cold and getting back to a flu (means beeing sometimes better sometimes worse) and had a very bad 3 week bronchial asthma - god bless it's almost gone, just need to be careful when my flu gets worse...
I'm more and more confident that those enzymes can help me and my body to get better - as the new eating habbits will get him into a shock I guess.

so, as messlinda said it might help really to become healthy.

Just wonder how long this 8 oz bottle would last???
