For those of you that have never heard this here's the deal. Go to a grocery store and before you look at the person behind the cart look and see what is in their cart. If it is full of prepackaged food 99% of the time when you look at them they are overweight. If they have fresh fruits and veggies in their cart they will be slim. This worked again today. While at work I looked at a ladies cart and it was full of fruits and veggies. Looked up at her and she was an attractive, slim women in her early forties.

Hey that is funny I never intellectualized this but I have been doing this for years. I always check out people's purchases and see what they look like or better yet if it is a mother take a look at the kids.

I've been noticing people's carts a lot lately. Sometimes that's true, but sometimes I see slim people with lots of packaged stuff in thier carts. They usually have bad skin though, and they probably won't stay slim very long.

Ooh I love peeking into people's carts. And Curtis I've found the same as you. Almost always the carts with the packaged food = an overweight person. I do feel really bad, though, when I see overweight kids hanging off the sides of these carts. Sad that their parents aren't more conscientious about their health.

HA HA!!! I live in Middle Tennessee ... no reason to look in their carts, I already know what's in there ... and it ain't pretty!!! LMAO!!! Oh, and lately you don't even have to look in their carts, you can see what they're eating by what's on top of their car or in the trailer behind it!!!

Oh gross! But that's true here in MN too. I don't understand why slaughterhouses have laws about not being able to have any part of a slaughtered animal in view during a transport but that 90% of my neighbors can drive around with dead deer atop their pickup trucks.

I didn't catch the part about "what is on top of a car, or what is behind it", until I read the post about MN......

Ewwww!!!!

I won't be fitting the shopping cart theory for a while, because I still have a lot of weight to lose, but my cart is more and more filled with fruit and veggies. :o I'm looking forward to being one of those slender healthy folks with a cart full of good raw food!

Peace, Valerie

Valerie - Despite whatever weight you still want to lose, I bet your skin is glowing and your hair is shiny and that you look quite at peace pushing your cart of fruits & veggies!

The people I associate with the carts loaded w/ junk food do not have any of those things going for them.

Love,
Lisa

Hi, Lisa,

That is so kind! Things are changing, for sure, and for the better, but I'm not quite ready to say I am glowing with shiny hair! (In fact, thinning hair has been one of my problems the last couple of years.) But I am healing, and there is improvement, and one thing that is a great improvement is how much more relaxed I am when waiting in line with my shopping cart. My anxiety level has definitely dropped since going raw!

Peace,
Valerie

I've noticed the same thing. Between raw & yoga/meditation, I'm the calmest person. I used to get so impatient with everything. Recently I've even had cashiers thank me for my patience when the person in line in front of me took awhile. Kind of sad that it's unusual for someone to wait patiently instead of pitching a fit.
