Hi, everyone. I am a week into what's amounting to about a 50 - 60% raw diet, working towards 90%. So far, the challenge has lain only with eating non-raw foods, which seem to give me terrible heartburn after eating raw the entire day (and gas, yuck). I've always been a fruit and veggie lover, so the fare is definitely something I can live with!
I decided to try raw for several reasons. First, I had gained a lot of weight (25 lbs.) after quitting smoking almost five years ago, a result of having nothing to do anymore (I never smoked in the house, so I was always "on the go."). Second, I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia after years of suffering with mysterious joint, muscle and bone pain, as well as IBS. From articles I've read, raw seems to be a beneficial diet for fibromyalgia (and chronic fatigue) sufferers.
Anyway, glad to be here and I hope I learn a lot (I have already, just reading the posts...)
