Hello! I started sprouting some millet yesterday, soaked and drained over night with paper towel over them and nothing happened. I bought the seeds? from a whole food store, but they aren't marked as "sprouting" type. What did I do wrong? Thanks!

have you been rinsing them a couple of times a day?
Alissa has a sprouting chart in her book. It gives time frames
on how long different types of seeds need to sprout.
I have never sprouted millet,
but maybe the sprouts don't show till the 2nd day.
Or it's possible the seeds you bought were not the sprouting kind.

How long has it been since you've drained them from soaking??
I would give them a little more time and make sure to rinse them at least
twice a day.

According to my chart the soaking time for millet is 6 to 8 hours and the sprouting time is 3 to 4 days. If you are doing everything right then they may not have started sprouting yet.

Hi Gals - Sprouting is something that takes practice - I must be patient  Thanks for your feedback! I had to throw the millet away, it was starting to smell and should have sprouted by yesterday and didn't do anything, but smell. I've got garbanzos about ready (can't wait to make hummus) and lentils - they taste sweet - Going to make mock tuna raw sushi with it.... Take care!
