I have been having back pain for 6 days. I have been eating raw since 11/29. I have even slacked off on drinking tea. I have read sites of detoxing but this is getting rediculous. I have a Christmas party to attend this weekend with husband, a laa dee daa function, and want to feel my best and dance. I have not taken any meds, came close to grabbing the alieve, did get a massage to no avail. Please help. I also saw the thread on calicum and am wondering if I am not getting enough and that is effecting my back??? Any suggetions also can you use any rubs, example asprin creme, haven't but getting close!!!!

There is nothing you can think of that may have caused this as in pulling something or some kind of stress, slept the wrong way, anything at all? Did you ever have epidural during a delivery (if you have children)?
Also, maybe a good enema might help as with me, I used to get back pain from (sorry in advance if TMI) impacted feces in my colon as I had a terrible time with constipation even after going raw as it would take my body a while to rid of all that old stuff.
Hope you're feeling better soon! Try peppermint EO mixed with a carrier oil and massaged in as well and maybe a heat compress to help out with the discomfort.

If you possibly can, try going to a chiropractor. A couple of years ago my back started hurting like crazy--after no noticeable injury. I couldn't get out of bed without help, and sitting in a chair was agony. Although I didn't have health insurance, I went to a chiropractic clinic, where they took an x-ray, did an initial consultation, and gave me an adjustment. The relief was immediate; I didn't feel 100% after that first one, but I did after about a week or so--they recommended many adjustments soon thereafter, which I did (my x-rays were pretty scary). I no longer have the kind of back and shoulder pain I used to have, and I just go to the chiropractor every couple of months when I feel like my back would appreciate it.
The chiropractor can help put your vertebrae back where they belong if they're out of place--which is the case with many people, especially those of us who sit in front of a computer for a living. Many clinics will work out a payment plan for you if you can't pay all at once, but many insurance plans will cover at least part of the cost. A trip to my chiropractor costs less than a trip to any other "specialist" for me.

I had one child with demaraw (spelling), and the other with NOTHING ouch. I have peppermint oil and will try rubbing in but I don't have other oil to mix it in and we are having sleet here now. Is it okay to put on skin by itself? Also who has stressed at this time of year? DUH!! I have been delivering food and doing many errands for my kids, so maybe that is it. I just wasn't sure if it was part of detoxing or lack of calcium. Also I have been very regular since raw except for the day after I ate an avocado/berry mouse. Too much sugar even though it was natural I think. As far as a chriopractor for personal reasons have never been or will go. I am glad it worked for you. I may have to go back to accuputure. Sorry for my whining and again thanks for the suggestions.

Ladybug,
I have chronic lower back pain--poor posture, too much weight on my frame and worry are my issues. I had a hot rock massage and could not believe the relief and the loosening of my muscles. When I first went in, the masseuse thought I was in an accident or something just my stance I guess. I left a different person--with a bounce back in my step.
She was experienced and was not afraid to use appropriate pressure for my massage (I've had others that were not as effective).
May be worth a try.
Hope you feel better.

I know a place that does this. I have had a history of meds and docs and saw what my mom went thru only if my life is in danger, had my gall bladder out because docs advised and my mom almost died when her's ruptured is the only time I go to the later for help.
