I have a cut on my leg that looks as if it could be getting infected. I don't want to graphically describe it here. Anyway, I don't want to get antibiotics, that'll ruin all the work my body has done by detoxing. Would fasting to rid the infection quicker help you think?

Giving advice in this area is delicate.
Fasting will harbor all your energies to work on healing and fighting infection. Inflamation, which is a symptom of infection, is part of increased functioning within the area. If you have been on a clean diet for some time (many months) you will have no trouble healing without antibiotics. Wounds heal much quicker while fasting. Stay warm and calm, keep the affected area clean. By all means, call a doctor of your own choosing if you feel the slightest bit uncertain.
Keep us posted, where do we send flowers in case things don't go so well? :D

If it were my leg I would pour hydrogen peroxide on the cut repeatedly until it stops bubbling and then pat or blow it dry. Then put a skinned piece of aloe on the cut and a bandage over that. I would do this once a day or several times a day depending on how it felt. The aloe completely vanishes BTW.

If it were red and inflamed, or worse, I would hold a cloth soaked with vinegar (white or cider either one) on the cut for maybe 20 min. to draw the inflamation out. I have personally seen people and animals cured of gangrene by doing this twice daily until it was healed.

Also I'd drink more than the usual amount of water.

Honey! My son had surgery on his foot in July and they had us using every high-tech, chemical salve on the market to try to close the last part of the wound.
But it was stubborn and no matter what, would not close.

Until my wonder Pa told me to use honey. It closed up overnight! I'll never use anything else now. :)

Just give it a try and see what it does...it's chock full of natural antibiotics.

Dreamrawalwz,

I hope your leg is healing up. I have been going through the mill this week with a horrible infection in my foot. I have not had an infectioin in over two years of ANY sort, but after dropping a kitchen knife on my foot and cutting it and then developing a raging infection within 12 hours.... I am bummed about having to use antibiotics. Well, I attribute it partially to being "off the raw-wagon" for a little bit. Needless to say... I am back on raw.

Anyway... hope your leg heals well. I think I will try a honey poultice to my foot and see what it does. It should not hurt stitches, right?

no, i wouldn't think honey would hurt stitches. I hope your foot gets better. Thanks everyone, I'll try a few things and see what happens.
