Once a week I put a new thing in my shopping cart that I have never eaten before; this week I bought mint leaves.

Someone mentioned merinated mint leaves, or something like that;

anyways;

What do you all do with mint leaves?

Thanks

Mint tea is the best, it has that wonderful flavor and smells so very good.

All you do is put a couple leaves in some warm water, and either allow them to sit there until they flavor the water, or you can use them in a smoothie, or in a nut milk shake mmmmmmm
You can make cookies, anything you like.

I use them all the time as we grow our own, and they make an excellent hair freshener, add to final rinse.

But my favorite is mixed with strawberries and make fruit leather out of them, mmmmmmmmmmmm

and tea of course, mmmmmmmmm

I get mine from a store; my question is does rinsing then take away some of the flavor?

rinsing shouldn't take away any of the flavor.

You can make a sun tea with the mint; set out a gallon container with water
and place the mint in it to infuse it. I just saw that on a raw uncooking
video. Then after it steeps for awhile and the water tastes minty,
you can add some stevia, agave or sweetener of choice if desired.
I saw mint flavored/infused water being sold at Whole Foods, kinda pricey,
so making your own much more economical.
Or make some tea like RP suggested.
I think mint goes well with chocolatey stuff; so a smoothie made with
raw carob and mint sounds yummy to me...with some frozen banana's and nutmilk if you have it.

I'll have to try the strawberries with mint fruit leather; that sounds good.

I love mint.

Mint leaves are good in a salad. I got the idea from a Greek Restaurant. I usually combine mint with cucumbers and red bell peppers.

tabouleh sometimes has mint in it, along with the parsley. You can make it from quinoa which sprouts very quickly, in about a day, just rinse and rinse and rinse first to get the bitter coating off the quinoa. Then chop up tomatoes, maybe some red onion, cucumber, dress with a lot of lemon juice, celtic salt, pepper, olive or hemp oil, and put in chopped parsley and a little chopped mint.

also in SAD food, mint is good with carrots and peas, maybe you could make a raw version of something like that, grated carrots, chopped mint, etc...

I grow true peppermint in the garden and dry it for the winter, it has so many uses.

definitely make something "chocolate" mint too!

Hi GG,

Thanks for posting this topic as I love Mint. Yum, Yum ;) As for using the leaves, well as Punky already mentioned mint water taste lovely. And it really adds a refreshing spark to ordinary. I guess you maybe could search "mint recipes" and come up with some good ones too.

Hope everything is going great for you!

I've put them in smoothies, and that tasted good. Also, I posted a recipe here a while back for a cucumber salad with mint and raspberries. That was really yummy.

To keep mint from wilting, either put the stems in about 1/2 " of water in a drinking glass, or wrap in a wet paper towel.

If you want to grow some of your own, just stick a sprig in soil and keep it watered. Also, you can sprout the roots in water and then plant. It's best to keep it in a large pot and not your garden, unless you want a mint invasion....it will creep underground and sprout literally everywhere.
