From my personal experience I don't think I get my energy from the food I eat. What about you?:)

If not from food ~ which is fuel for the body, where do you think you get it?

I don't "believe" anything. I KNOW that if I eat incorrectly, my energy lags and if I eat what my body really likes, I have energy. Also, I know I need sun. Sooo, a combination of the two ~ oh! Add some water in there and movement...yet, if I don't get enough correct food and water I don't get out into the sun and move. It's all a cycle.

Yes, my energy comes from the food I eat, the sleep I get each night, sunshine, water, air, exercise, personal relationships and my spiritual beliefs. A combo of them all and in a cycle as Revvell stated above!

And if eat incorrectly my energy level drops quickly and hard, enough so to keep me on track most of the time!

I believe my energy/vitality comes from the air I breath and sunlight! :)

I've been getting energy from sun, fresh air, clean water, God, and lovely relationships for five days now (as I'm currently fasting).

I can say very honestly that my energy is not even comparable to what I experience when adding fresh, life-giving foods to the equation. If I continue to subsist only on sun, air, etc. I eventually won't feel hunger. But after awhile, my body will require food. There are plenty of tales of breatharian yogis who survive without food, but that hasn't been my personal experience...which is really all I can speak from ;)

The Creator gave me energy.

I agree to some extent. When I ate dead food, I felt like I didn't have energy, and for the longest time too.

Now that I'm eating live food, I feel alive, energized, aware, alert, and full of light and energy.

So to recap, dead food = no energy and live food = lots of energy

LOL@Sharon... her and that dancin' nana of her's is hysterical....

Well...

I just happened upon an article of a man.. HRM ( Indian name ).. and he's done something like 411 days of nothing but sunshine and air. They call is the HRM Phenomenon. ( I dunno.. don't look at me.. I've no intention of becoming a bretharian anytime soon. lol )

That being said, and others having some experiences off of the food grid, I think besides God - our energy can and does come from what our bodies consume - be it.. sunlight ( necessary ) and air ( try not breathing ), and foods.

How's that for a non-comittal approach? ( grin )

I do not believe that food has anything to do with giving me energy, I think it takes it away.

I have been working physically hard for the last two days, for over 10 hours a day with a rental situation, I have not sat down once during the day, nor have I eaten anything until after I was done working, and I had more energy at 52 years old and 250 pounds than the two young men working with me.

They ate breakfast and lunch, SAD.

I drank water that was it.

I KNOW that digestion, even of good raw organic food is the second most taxing thing to the body, sex is number one, YES--- REALLY., Well, okay, hard exercise, which sex should be. LOL

But, if I want to have abundant energy, I don't eat.

Now, I also need rest, and sunshine and love (to give), these are all things that I truly KNOW in my heart will lift my energy.

I have proven more than once, that NOT eating will give me much greater energy during the day, especially if I am physically working hard than anything else.

Now, if I am mentally working, then I need some kind of fruit, I don't understand this, but I have read that the brain needs sugars to function well.

So, I have tried this and if I don't eat during the day, when I am writing, I can easily forget what words I wish to use or how to write, or paint.

But anything physical and I know no food is best FOR ME.

Hey Renee - well the Creator gives me energy but carbs DEFINATELY give me fuel. Any science book will tell ya that sugars fuel the body.

That Indian man - is that the one who for some reason regenerates his urine? I think I read something about that man.

This is all very interesting to me..

Ever since I was a young child I remember never eating breakfast, and hardly eating anything and lunch. If I did eat, I would always feel worse afterwards than I did beforehand. In fact, I would usually, and still today, go without eating anything until later on in the evening..6, 7, 8:00 PM. I always have plenty of energy throughout the day, and drink water as needed...but rarely feel deprived of energy to the point that I HAVE TO eat. Now, of course, sometimes I just have a pineapple or an apple throughout the day because I like how they taste and they're good for me :), and previously on SAD I would snack just because I could and I think the idea of eating three meals a day with snacks is something that is socially conditioned..but as far as NEEDING energy from this food during the day, I never really did. Even when I was playing competetive soccer, or upped my energy to running 5 miles a day.

As night approaches, however, I find myself naturally reaching for food...and it has always been this way with me. My family would make fun of me, in a teasing way, telling me I'm a "night eater."

After reading some of these articles..does anybody think that perhaps this is because during the day I get energy from the sun and once it retires for the night and darkness engulfs my world I need to reach for other forms of energy..i.e. food?

I know this might be a stretch..but after browsing through the articles the possibility of a connection between what I had read and my life-long natural eating patterns semi-appeared to me.

Just a wild hypothesis :)

What does everyone think?

I've Known for some time that part of my energy levels are connected to the rising and setting of the sun, think about this too, run up a flight of stairs and what do you do? run the length of a soccer pitch and what will you do? my guess is you'll be breathing pretty hard until you have enough energy to carry on! so I personaly believe that our lungs also process air for us to use as energy.Just a thought. :)

:D

yes yes that made me realize i forgot to mention that i don't think energy comes SOLELY from the sun..but i think it may have a substantial role.

along with water, air, live foods, etc. :)

When you say you have more energy during the day when you don't eat, does this include mental clarity? I have 2 of my hardest finals tomorrow, would it be better to go on a juice fast? What does everyone think?

I took two finals today without eating and I was fine...but I've had this eating pattern for as long as I can remember.

I'd probably suggest holding off on the juice fast until after your finals..just so nothing unexpected comes up and impacts your performace.

Just my opinion though :)

I agree, all this depends on how clean you are internally and sensitivity that comes with being 100% raw for a long period of time. ;)

If food gives one an experience of having more energy, then the more food you eat the more energy you will experience, right?
Energy comes from your nervous system, a well rested one at that.

We can eat right, breathe right, catch 'rays', exercise, and all of the good things that we think produce energy....but it can all be zapped away as quickly by negative relationships and situations...spouse, kids, work relationships, shopping and traffic irritations...IF we let it. Some who seem to do everything 'right' are in destructive relationships which can slmost negate all of the good work. Health and energy can be brought low by negative people and circumstances, so it is just as important to know how to rise about the people and situations who work hard at undoing all we do. I live life with a happy, positive attitude. I try to find the best in people and surround myself with those who can 'ADD' to my life, and to whose life I can
also be a blessing. I laugh a lot, and that in itself is a energy producer. When I am feeling stressed or low, laughter is the single most healing 'tool' in my life, and it's effect is almost immediate.
