Hi all,
I did my first raw foods class this past Sunday and it was a desserts tasting where I made some things and had people come and taste!
I took pictures of the food and wanted to share: http://public.fotki.com/Rawkinlocs/live_food_pictures/guilt-free_desserts/

AWESOME DESSERTS!!!! Are these all Alissa's recipes or some of your own creations? Was there an overall favorite? Incredible job! Let me know when I can start mail-ordering them! ;)

Thanks Revvell and Rawyogini (LOL@ the mail order comment)! :D
The recipes from Alissa's book were the date nut torte (not pictured, but I demo'd it), the blueberry cheesecake, the turtles (which I modified by adding the date-based caramel to it), the crepes and the carrot cake.
I think the one I heard the most comments on were the pecan rolls (which is an adaption of the Serena Allison recipe), but they seemed to love it all!
My own were the sweet potato pie, apple pie, the not-quite-peanut butter cookies and the brownies was just a combination of a few different recipes I've seen floating around.

Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful (and yummy!) pictures, everything looks so good I think I am gonna go take a piece of date nut torte out of the freezer right now to thaw out for my dinner!
So, maybe Olympia isn't so far from Poulsbo afterall... when is your next dessert tasting party???

Doe, don't give up trying...sometimes Fotki has server downtime and that's more than likely what's going on.

I think a desert spread is such a COOL idea, Cherie!
You and the other seestah from the eeeeastah ( Jackie ) put on some really well-done displays!
Did you have any interesting comments on anything they liked or didn't yet know how to like?
I'm thinking in January I'll have my first spread - I'm being asked to tutor ( don't faint ) a group of homeschooling mothers. I was dreaming about it the other night.. and I thought of just putting out a bunch of really beautiful looking concoctions ( like you two did ) - and popping in Alissa's DVD - and let her do most of the prep work.
I'd get certified to be "legal" to teach it myself, but I have to put one kid in braces for a jaw realignment and another kid is going to Guatemala to teach village children drama and dance..... ..err.. or is that the other way around..( ?) lol.
Sigh.. maybe by the end of next year...
Ya'll look like you're having so much fun. I can barely stand it.

Doe, Myssi, Renee and Rawpriestess...thank you for your kind words!
Doe, my husband was the photographer :) I know how you feel...sometimes I shoo the kids and dh out of the kitchen too! But when doing the 2 short demos in front of them at the dessert tasting, I could also see how it was enjoyable to prepare food in front of others...it was fun!
Renee, you're gonna do great! Your idea of putting the DVD in and having food for them to try out is terrific! I got some comments on things they really liked (like the pecan rolls, the turtles, etc.) no comments on anything they didn't like but I know I heard some say they were full and didn't even get to try everything.
RP, it went wonderfully and everyone enjoyed the food and said I did a great job. Thanks again for the kind words and support all! :D

Cherie, YOU'RE my hero! I really have a vision to do this also. There are several people in my church who are interested. HOW do I get certified? I think the trip will be tooo far for me, but maybe I can just do it from my own knowledge? We may start a RAW support group, but I definitely want to be able to introduce others in a DELICIOUS way! Thanks for all your support, and the pictures were great, I wish I could've been there!
