Hi guys, how do you prefer to eat Mono or gourmet? :) as for me I eat mono pretty much because my body functions much better that way, how about you?

Welcome Fruitarianone!
Definitely mono. When I was SAD, I used to cook up a storm. I'm just not into as much raw prep. I like to try new recipes just for a change. I'll also do a big spread for a holiday or on occassion when I make up big batches of things to last for a while, but on a day to day basis, it's so much simpler and beneficial (in my opinion) to just eat the whole fruit/veggie.

I don't necessarily eat mono, but I do eat pretty simply for the most part although I DO eat gourmet as well. I guess you could say I just eat what I want when I want it...if I'm feeling that I "need" something heavy and savory or what have you, then I'll whip up a recipe or two.
If I'm feeling kinda like I need to feel lighter, then I eat fruit or drink smoothies or eat salads. Actually, that is what I do most days...smoothies in the a.m....fruit throughout the day and salad or marinated veggies at p.m.

I'm with Rawkinlocs and Revvell.
I eat mono most of the time, partly because it's easy, partly because my body feels so much more natural that way.
I do own a dehydrator, and I do have raw recipe books, but I don't eat foods made with those very much. I much prefer mono, and I prefer fruits, both sweet and non.
The only blended food I do eat regularly is smoothies.

When I eat Mono my body is at peace and I can read it so much easier for instants I can tell when I need to stop eating because the taste of what I'm eating will change to bland and I've become more sensitive to things like that. :)

Agreed with the mono preference. Although I do mix it up a bit I prefer eating fruit and veg whole as they are for the most part....I'm still transitioning and thus do crave the heavier, dehydrated things as well...esp now that it's getting colder.

Mono for me also.. I've always had a very simple diet even before raw.. would go out to eat only occasionally and even then would only treat myself on rare occasions.. thats how I go about this also, my very simple fruits, salads and smoothies most of the time and occasional I'll whip up a recipe (ahh because I still love to cook..errr..now prepare ;) )

Salads and smoothies are not mono. Mono means only one fruit or one veggie at a sitting. I do that on occasion (mono); usually I do mixes and blends of fruits/veggies; rarely do I do the "gourmet" stuff anymore. Restaurant foods are too heavy now-a-days also.

The question is inaccurate now that I'm re-reading. As I said in my last post ~ mono means only one fruit/veggie at a meal; many of us do salads and smoothies ~ which does not constitute "mono" OR "gourmet". There are a lot of colors in the rainbow. I choose to enjoy them all.

:p I used to do some gormet, but they got too "heavy" for my system and now I prefer being ligter :) At the moment I'll say I am simple, not mono. Until dinner I eat mono fruit meals, but then dinner is usually a large salad with greens and a lot of vegetables. I'm working my way into mono all day though and mostly fruit.

I am not much into gourmet these days (actually I haven't been for a long while). I eat alot of fruit and drink alot of fruit-nut smoothies. I love salads as long as I have my raw toppings (cashew dressing or almond pate or shredded cabbage with curry..etc). Its been pretty simple mostly. I have lately had this thing for unsweetened banana chips (not raw), but other than that its been all raw and simple.
I eat mono most meals with the exception of special treats like a raw dessert or such. :)

I have always eaten my fruit meals mono, even before ever hearing the concept of "mono-eating." I naturally eat that way now still; however, my "salads" are a motley of vegetables and greens.
My green smoothies are mono in that I consume them without fruit nowadays.
I don't ever eat gourmet foods.

Like many who've already posted this thread, I'm into more simpler (mono) meals now and don't even have any urges for cooked food or raw gourmet meals for that matter.
I eat fruit (or fruit smoothies) in the morning hours and a green smoothie or salad for dinner with some other vegetables. However, unlike alot of folks on this forum, I've been tracking my caloric intake and carb/fat/protein percentages and think the right ratio makes a difference. Obviously, not everyone believes (or wants to believe) this approach is helpful, but it is working for me.
That's about it. Simple is best for me.
Cheers,

I've eaten mono for many years now - and prefer the simplicity. I think everyone needs to go with a level that's comfortable for them......and stretch....but not tear.

the first few months I went raw, I really wanted to eat the gourment recipes, I could read about them, make them, soak, prepare, dehydrate, plan, go shopping, and I could obsess all I wanted about the food, which allowed me to be happy about my new life patterns.
After I started feeling more comfortable with raw, then I started eating almost all mono, sometimes for days, once for an entire month, all I ate was honeydew melon, that's all I wanted for a whole month.
the challenge was, I fell off raw, and have been on and off and on and off since then.
So, although I thought I only wanted one type of food, I will continue to make gourmet recipes to eat, because I don't want to go back to eating cooked again.
I think it is important to do what ever works for you.
And for me, I will eat lots of gourmet and mono, and anything that feels right at the time.
I think "whatever keeps you raw" is what is the MOST important thing to do.
