I am wondering if anyone has been to the restaurant in New York that inspired the wonderful book "Raw".My husband and I are going to check it out as our first dinner out for our anniversary as raw foodist. :)

What restaurant and what book are you talking about? I have seen the book Raw, which is by Charlie Trotter and Roxanne Klein, is that the one? I think trotters restaurant is in chicago?? Theres Pure Food and Wine in the city, their book is "Raw Food 100 recipes to get the glow"

I've been to Pure Food/Wine. The food is delicious but pricey. It's a great place for a special occasion like an anniversary - nice ambience! I usually go to their take-out place around the corner from the restaurant - it's a little cheaper. Enjoy!

Have you ever been to Quintessence?? They're food looks a bit more reasonable and how do I say this, less trendy??. I've been dying to go and am bringing a few non raw friends, it definitely seemed less intimidating.

Hi Angelina,
Yes, I have been to Quintessence. I love the Buddha Bowl! But there's something about the atmosphere at Q that is cold and I'm never REALLY thrilled with my meals, although I keep trying. My favorite places are Caravan and PFW Takeout. Bonobos is good too. The Whole Foods in Chelsea and Union Square now offer some raw dishes in their salad bar.
