Raw comes up in the most interesting places. .

I work in information technology and was recently working at overnight shift with some folks I don't usually interact with. One of the people I was working with made a totally out of the blue comment about another co-worker who was working at another location, saying that "he's on this really weird diet were he only eat raw, unprocessed food". . .my ears perked up and he continues to say that this man had lost a lot of weight and recovered from some pretty serious health issues. . . . I've know this man (the one who eats raw) for a couple of years, but have only seen him once or twice (as we work in different states), but I realized that the last time I saw him, he did have a nice healthy glow and seemed to move with a confidence and ease that many people I work with do not have. . . .hmm. . .

So anyway, I've dropped him a email. . haven't heard back yet, but just wanted to share this. . . .sometimes I feel like I'm very alone in my day to day life with being raw. . .and just when I was feeling like I was really "out there". . this message comes to me totally unexpectedly. . . .just when I needed to hear it most. . .

I was at COSTCO. There were two ladies giving a demonstration of the Vitamix. I asked if they could make something without adding Soy protien and/or chips because I am a raw foodists and one of the girls comes out and starts talking to me about being Raw, and how she's from Utah, and how great it is for you. It was really nice to have that happen - just two little words.

I always find that when I "think" I am the ONLY one doing something...my angels always send me a positive reinforcement or a sign I am headed the right way. I have not "met" anyone yet in a store like that or through work..but I have met someone through this website that lives in my area and graduated from the same high school as me We are trying to get together soon. WHAT A GIFT!! :)

DH and I were at the local Costco two weeks ago looking at the Vita-Mix and I did the same thing in telling the guy I was raw and asked him to make something nummy for DH. He was so cool, made 4 or 5 different drinks and kept telling the crowd how healthy a raw diet is. We were there for about an hour, the guy got tons of questions about raw foods in the Vita-Mix. My sweet DH bought me one as a Christmas gift :D

How much is the Vitamix at Costco ? I've been looking on line - the ones that I'm seeing are approximately $ 400.00.

I came to college concerned that I would be ostracized for my diet because its probably even more rare among people my age. The second day I was here, the girl who lives in the dorm room next to mine started telling me how she and her whole family follw the Hallelujah diet and eat about 80% raw. And a friend I had made last year came back to school telling me how convinced she is that the best diet for humans is 100% raw!!! WOW
