hello, i have a question, i've been eating raw for about almost 4 weeks, but i don't eat alot, maybe like 2 or 3 times a day, not much, is that normal? did anyone had the same experience? also i would like to know like what do you guys eat usally in one day: breackfast, lunch dinner? maybe i can try to do the same.

the thing is that i have high blood pressure, and the temperature here is cold so i'm minimize in fruits to eat, so mostly i eat is just vegetables and nuts, any feedback will be good, thx.

I used to limit fruits when i first went raw, but now they make up the majority of my diet and I have never felt better. So I am not sure this will be much help. I am also breastfeeding, so I have to keep my calories up for baby.

Breakfast: water, smoothie (if hungry)
Snack: smoothie (if didn't have one earlier)
Lunch: another smoothie or nothing at all
Snack: green drink and nuts or dried fruit
Dinner: huge salad (and once I get Alissa's book, one of her recipes ... right now I finish off with a small amount of cooked)

If I get hungry inbetween meals or snacks I will have soaked nuts, dried fruit, veggies with dip, or a raw treat/snack. I recently got a recipe for flax crackers that I plan on making to have on hand for inbetween meals and snacks.

I have read from other people that when they first start going raw, if they don't eat very much, then for some reason they fail on eating all raw. I am not sure as to the reason why. I do know that once I increased the amount of fruits I ate (which I feared doing because of my candida), not only did my candida go away, but I was not always hungry like I was before.

Anyways, I hope this helps.

If eating less is working for you, go with what your body is doing. Don't "force" yourself to eat less or more, but eat until you feel satisfied.

Also, you can have your fruit at room temp. or I've heard of running it under hot/warm water for a bit so it's not "out-of-the-fridge-cold" when you eat it.

Paula just wondering if I could have a dip recipe for your veggies that you really like? I have yet to find one that I really like. If you could share that would be great!

As for what I eat during the day -

B: veggie juice
S: veggie juice
L: fruit shake:
S: fruit
D: salad (usually) sometimes other things depending on what is around

If I get hungry in between those I usually snack on fruit, crackers, nuts, nut butter, or raw treats.

Hope that helps. I journal at www.eco-centric.it if you want to go there and look. There is another person journaling there also.

Good luck to you. I would agree you should try to listen to your body but dont deny it either. I personally did not do very well on a veggie & nut diet. I tried that earlier this year and it just did not work for me. When I added in more fruit, I found that I felt a TON better.

It is actually either nut butter, or that Lynne's Heavenly Veggie Dip in your files section. I just ordered Alissa's book. Maybe there is one in there. But nonetheless, I bet they all require nuts. My kids really like salsa made with tomatoes and cucumber. Sorry I could not be of more help. Blessings, Paula

Hi Gizel,

I've found that to be pretty normal to eat a lot less. Sometimes it's scary! Mostly just the psychology of eating that most of us were probably raised with...we have it like we MUST eat 3 square meals a day, blah blah blah. Same kind of crap like people who also think you MUST eat meat for protein, milk for calcium, and give your child Ritalin for hyperactivity (as if it's caused by a Ritalin deficiency!)...lol....

Anywho...I've been raw only about 2 weeks, so you and are are sort of in the same boat. I've found that I can eat WAY less and be full/satisfied. My fridge is twice as empty on week 2 as it was on week 1. I must have thought I was going to starve or something! I have just started to let go of all the cultural stuff about food and find it's a lot more freeing to just eat whatever you want, whenever, in any quantity you feel.

Just bear in mind that with Raw foods, you are getting 100% of 100% of the nutrition, so you may feel like your eating less - but you are actually getting more nourishment.

Honor your body!

Hope that helps. :D

Hi Im new to this site and just starting out on raw. I am pleased to see your posting.
I have candida and am afraid of eating fruit. Im sticking to salads and juicing. Its good to know that your symptoms cleared up as its so confusing working out what to do about candida and fruit. I think i will try a little and see how it goes!
