I have learned about myself that I am OBSESSED with food. I donÂ’t know why.
I think about it, plan the next meal, daydream about what “what ever” tastes.
This obsession has cost me at least a thousand dollars over the past 6 months; that is with our regular food expenses. I hope raw will make me less obsessed about food.
Is there anyone here like me? Or has been like me?
Can you give me any tips.

YEP, everyone has at least ONE obsession and usually more, some call it an addiction, some call it a passion, others call it a calling.

No matter how you look at it, it is simply a human trait.

So, go with it, dont' try to fight it, if you are obsessed with food, GREAT, make it raw and living food, buy all the appliances, and DVD's and uncook books you can get your hands on, try out all the raw restaurants, and raw chef classes there are.

do whatever it takes to allow you to be raw and be happy.

So, if you are obsessed with organic foods then I say "go for it" all the way, be a becon of light to everyone else, be a raw food aholic, be a raw foodie junkie, and delight in the pleasure that YOUR addiction is good for you.

Oh yes, there are many people who are where you are at or have been there. (((hug)))

I have an addiction with food and eating raw has really helped. I can still overeat and obsess about eating, but now it's about healthy things that make my body and soul thrive! There are many people here that can attest to the addiction for food really being an addiction to COOKED food. For many people the problems dissapear after eating 100% raw.

Being obsessed with raw food should be a great quality ! Because it takes planning and preparation ahead of time for some of the meals that you create, the energy that you have should make this an exciting process for you. You may even come up with a few recipes of your own.

As long as your obsession isn't making you crazy and financially wrecking you, I say enjoy ! It's been alot of fun for me to discover new tastes and try new dishes, and for me eating can be a chore.

Think of the positive, at least with raw, there aren't many options to eat out so theres a lot of savings there! Who that is raw isn't obsessed? Why would we go so far as to change our thinking, habits and lifestyle if we weren't obsessed with being healthy at least????

BTW, being raw, I am still obsessed with eating good food. So I've invented some incredible recipes as a result! But I'm proud to now KNOW that if I want a really good meal, I just need to plan and make it myself!! So yay, I save money from not eating out.....just spend more money eating in, lol! When I'm not obsessed with eating and enjoying it, I lose weight and get too skinny. So isn't it good to a certain point?

Yes, I'm obsessed too.

I have spent waaaaay to many years of my adult life going to this support group and that support group and trying this diet and that diet and hearing over and over that I am an addict. No offense to 12 step programs. (I'm a recovering alcoholic, 16 1/2 yrs. and AA saved my life!!) I spent a lot of time "obsessing" about what was wrong with me that needed to be "fixed". When I decided to try raw food, I was amazed to find that all my "problems" just gradually faded away. I stopped thinking about food all the time, planning my next meal, etc. I really believe that "cooked" food leads to my addictive behaviors with food. When I eat 100% or even high raw, I don't have any food issues or any other issues for that matter. No mood swings, no PMS, no depression, etc. Life is good on raw!! Don't worry about being obsessed, this is a positive addiction. :D
