I'm just 3 weeks into mostly (90%) raw. This feels like the right thing to do, tho I need to buy Alissa's book so I can get some guidance for starting out. Its amazing how many books there are now on Living and Raw Food living...tho gets kinda confusing when theres contradictory info...ah well....I do look forward to hearing about everyone's journey, and sharing my own.....Kristin

Welcome Kristin,

Alissa's book has been helpful to me.
After you get Alissa's there's lots more information out there too so you should try and soak as much knowledge as you can from some of the leaders in the field.

I also liked these books among many I've read so far:
The Raw Truth by Paul Nison
12 Steps to Raw by Victoria Boutenko

If and when you get Alissa's book, she has some good references for your continued research and enjoyment.

Again, welcome and have fun!

Welcome, Kristin, from someone who is at the same place as you in life's journey. After being raw for a year, I wholeheartedly suggest using Alissa's book (and her 30-day plan that's in it) to go raw. It worked for me and many other people I know.

How wonderful that you've decided on this transformation!

Welcome again.

Welcome to the forum. Dont worry about all the conflicting information. Just try it, experience it and that will create the truth that is meant just for you.

Many blessings to you on your raw journey.

It is nice to have another "mature" lady on board. Hope that it goes well for you. If you are still in menopause I want you to know that my symptoms totally went after a few weeks raw.

Welcome Kristen! Starting with Alissa's book and the 30 Day Challenge is a wonderful way to experience raw and will help you succeed. I'm 55 and have been 100% raw 6 weeks and absolutely love it. It really is wonderful...I've lost 20 pounds, feel great and DH and daughter say I look 10 years younger (they might be partial though). :D

Hi Kristin! I just wanted to welcome you on your new "LIVING" journey! How exciting to have made the commitment. You will truly be blessed beyond measure. :)

I too want to reiterate some of the posts about Alissa's book. I personally have several raw recipe books and out of all of them, Alissa's book is my favorite (especially for newbies). Her recipes are easy and taste wonderful! And it's not just a recipe book either. The first half of the book contains tons of information about raw foods and how to get started (including a 4-week plan!). I would highly recommend her book. You will not regret it.

Blessings to you as you begin to LIVE on LIVE FOODS! And don't hesitate to seek for support and encouragement here.

Hi Kristin,
I'm in the same age range as you and have been gradually over the past several months getting ready to go 100%. I have to say that the main motivator is that when I eat totally raw, I just feel so good....and I'm healthy and energetic to begin with! And I want that radiance I see in those who've been raw for a while. :)

I love Alissa's book, am trying her recipes, and just today am trying out my new dehydrator for the first time

welcome!
