Just wanted to let you all know, that link that Alissa posted (http://www.naturalgrocers.com/raw-food.html) carries cocoa butter by NOW foods. It is 100% pure - don't know if it has been heated or not or is organic or conventional (didn't ask) but that this point I don't really care. Luckily they stocked it at my local store.

I wanted to try to make that Chocolate Mousse recipe that Truthseeker tried http://greenchefs.tv/jana_delights/chocolate-mousse-cake.html and it calls for the stuff, which is very costly through NFL. Vitamin Cottage sells it for about $5 for a little jar, enough for a recipe and then some. It is manufacturered by a company called NOW foods, and yes, I already e-mailed them and was told it was food grade and can certainly be used in recipes. The stuff is as hard as a rock but is supposed to melt when heated up a bit. I may do that over a double boiler if need be for the recipe.

It smells incredible. Just wanted to throw that out there for those of you wanting to try the recipe without spending a fortune on cocoa butter.

Just make sure you get the one that says 100% pure and not the other which contains jojoba oil. I almost grabbed the wrong one off the shelf!

OH Sharon! I have made that recipe three times now.. it is one of the most magical things I have had raw!! EVERYONE who tries it loves it and the texture is amazing. You don't have to tell folks it is raw..

For melting the butter, I put big chunks into a ceramic mug and put that into a pot of lightly boiling water. It only took about two minutes for it melt down.. and what you don't use, just pour back into your tub.
