Hi friends,
I sent my husband to the store yesterday mainly because they had a 10 cent sale on tangerines and I needed nuts and other vegetables. I told him to get 30 tangerines and the other things, he said he got so many stares from people he felt like he was on stage, folks think eating healthy with fruits and vegies is so strange, it's funny.
I feel good about it because no one stared at us when we purchased meat and canned goods now we feel like we are Big Movie Stars.
We are walking down the RED CARPET when we have our shopping carts full of our favorite foods and we know that our bodies love us for it.

Hee-hee. . .I always love it when I get "those looks". . particularly at the regular grocery store. . . When I shop at the health food market, I still get the looks some times, but I also, almost always see someone else with a cart full of produce there.
I'm coming to a place where I don't even like to consider what's in the other aisles at the market - I buy produce, nuts/seeds and oils for myself. . . .and have to venture into the "plastic" part of the store for DBFs snack foods. . .and it pains me to think of how many years I ONLY ate from that part of the store. . .

I think about all the years I ate the S.A.D. and I thought I had it going on. I thought the headaches and constipation were normal, we had no clue what was healthy.
Now when I go into the stores where we shop I can't help but stare at people who have a shopping cart full of dead, devitaminlized food and I am at awe over how much their unfood will total out to be when they get to the register, yes sometimes I just happen to be around when they are checking out. You know it feels great to be RAW and the stares make me simile, maybe just maybe it will brighten someones outlook on their way past the vegetable and fruit section.
Blessing from God have rained down on us and we are so glad about it.
We are so glad to be RAW!!!!!!!!

I think it is so funny what healthy food brings in the range of comments. I often get asked if I am feeding rabbits....
It is so funny because I do not even NOTICE what others eat....what a freedom eating cleanly gives--no guilt no shame and no self obsession about others are thinking of what is in my cart.
As for hubby food runs.....God BLess my hubby --who I sent to buy some fennel--- brought home a bunch of NAPA cabbage. He has no CLUE--mega meat eater:).

To notice what others are bringing to the check-out counter helps me to remember where God has brought us from.
Now, we don't stand back and check out everyone who comes through the line but when we look back and remember how we use to buy a lot of meat and canned goods and pre-packaged foods just throwing good money away, thinking that we were eating good. We compared that to how we shop and eat now and it's like a bright and sunny day compared to a storming and rainy one, we feel so enlightened, when we remember where we started from. ;) :D

Weird, the store is one place where I generally don't get people (noticeably) staring at and/or critiquing the contents of my shopping cart. I don't generally notice what people have in their carts either, but I sometimes notice what people who are in line at the counter in front of me are buying.
Sometimes I notice people buying caselots of cans of coca-cola or some such soda pop sale (especially the buy 1-get 1 free deals!) and think back to when I used to dump gallons of that stuff into my body and my stomach churns thinking about it.
