I am thinking about goin on a juice fast. I am vegan, and about 80% raw, and I just want to flush out my system, but I dont know what to put in the juicer. If you could help me to know what vegetables go together in the blinder, as well as fruits etc. And I dont know what is a good length of time to stay on a fast.

no problem. good luck on your juice fast! whenever i do the ultimate cleanse i go to that website for inspiration and reinforcement. when you do a fast so many emotions start to come out. that site has a lot of good tips on how to stay on a fast and deals with the spirituality of a fast.

Any vegetables that taste good raw will generally taste good juice! Just make sure you don't do straight kale juice (unless you build up to it). I've very rarely tasted a juice combo that I didn't like. When in doubt, throw a bunch of carrots, apples, and greens in :)
BTW, I'm going on a juice fast starting tomorrow; maybe we can be juice fast buddies!

I did a mini fast prior for thanks giving and then I let out sometime after......anyway, I have fasted again and it's day 5 for me of juice fasting.
I always water near me for constant rehydration when I'm thristy. I feel my lips to see if that is the case. Then I start every morning around 7-8 am with a salt water flush, follow with 8-16 water then an hour later, I have apple with greens and a little ginger for stimulation of energy. I try to keep a balance of fruits and veggies at one sitting for sugar balance. Overall, I am keeping my veggie ratio higher.
In between my juicing, I am drinking water. Detox bath everyday followed with energy work and then breathing exercises.
My favortie juices for fasting are the following:
Cucumber-- I really like claming, diurectic and replenshing effects
Cabbage--I don't care for the flavor unless masked but the sulphur is helpful
Carrot--Sweet,vit A friendly and colon friendly
Parsley--vit C,diurectic abd chloropyll
Cilantro-- removes the lead and mercury from the body (taste awesome with fuji apples)
Fuji apples-- my all time fave, pectin, malic acid that breaksdown stones and has natural detergents for cleansing intestines
Beet-- I try to keep this one a 1-2 oz a day. liver and kidney cleanser and tonic
Celery-- diurectic, balance body salt, clams stomach and great for upper respiratory
Tangerines--YUMMY! Chinese view them as the key to clearing the sinuses.
Lemons--I've read should always bee mixed with a base, cleanser, astringent, rebuilds tissue, magneuim, vit c etc
Rainbow swiss chard--Beautiful to look at and mellow almost sweet taste when juiced--I could almost do it alone.
Those are some of my favorite juices. I am trying to expand my recipes but I get so caught up in my favortie fuji apple, swiss cahrd and ginger that myf ast has been the same almost everyday.
I've done a few extended juice fasts, and it makes one very resourceful with regard to combinations! My favorites:
cabbage-apple-ginger: cabbage is great for the intestines, and the ginger balances the sweetness
pure granny smith apple: gorgeous green color, also good with juiced cranberries
cucumber-parsley-beet-garlic-carrot-celery: good for a savory fix
orange-lemon-apple: tastes like very concentrated lemonade (I add a bit of water)
pineapple-cilantro: sounds odd, tastes wonderful

Hey juice buddies!
I'm on my 7th day of juice fasting and here is a summary of what I notice......
By the 5th day, I could really feel the toxins "screaming to get out"
On the 6th day, I felt challenged mentally and physically to not eat!
Today on the 7th day, my face is actually glowing.....I fell soft and plushy.
Increase in itchy bump on a couple fingers, my "psoriasis" like breakout on my neck is healing. I thought they were spider bites but I never had a doctor look at them. It's been four months and juicing is healing them.
I realize that it is critical to drink water in between juice meals as I can feel my body pushing the toxins out.
I now feel light and airy and my mental state is "lifting off" into the sky. The deepest part of me is freeing inside and I am excited to see what day 14 will be like when all said and done.
How long do you all plan to fast? :)
