Has anyone found that their depression was alleviated by staying raw? I tend to be very stressed out and hence somewhat down all the time. I've heard that being raw helps clear out the toxins that cause imbalances leading to depression, but haven't seen anyone comment on this. I had a very upsetting morning and feel extremely down in the dumps and don't care about eating raw right now...so I need encouragement.

I was on antidepressants before going raw. I still have my down days, but they are much better. Clearer. Yes! STAY RAW! Fight your way through if need be. Get some sunshine and exercise if that is possible. I find the difference between todays depression and that of pre-raw days, is there is somewhere a sense of peace, or hope? I cant really explain, but I encourage you to keep going. You can do it. I am on day 10 of 100% raw. Every day gets a little easier.

yes, definitely! I was major depressive, suicidal, and bi-polar before raw and even three days into cleansing phase (water-based foods mostly) raw that it was really lifted. I talked so much I annoyed myself because I wouldn''t shut up. I am laughing, joking, and smiling now :) It's amazing how much raw affects me this way!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I really needed to hear that!!!!! I can't (and don't want to) take antidepressants because they don't agree with me (probably because I'm so toxic to start with!). I try to stay "up", but days like this really flatten me and make me want to give up the effort of raw (it's a big battle in my family). I'm about to start a cleanse, so your encouragement has renewed my willingness to do it. Thanks for a ray of light on a dark day.
