View Full Version : marinara was great

I just got my "cookbook" in the mail last night and tried the Angel Hair Pasta and Marinara sauce. Really good, only thing was had a little trouble with the Saladacco. I'm sure with practice I'll get better. I can't wait to get my dehydrator to make crackers to dip in the Marinara sauce. I also tried Alissa's california dressing on a salad it was very lite and good. For breckfast I had the 14 grain muselix, it was little bitter to my taste so I just put it in my vita-mix with almond milk, apple, raisins and a touch of honey. Pretty good to drink at work but from now on I think I will just use a little in smoothies until I acquire a taste for it, I think it was the sunflower seeds that threw me. Anyhow these are my thoughts for my "Offical" first day of raw. I also tried greens powder in my carrot /spinach and it made me gag. Any suggestions to make it taste better or is this an acquired taste?

hmm... i've been using greens powder for a while and I think mixing it with carrot/spinach would be unappetizing. Mine even says on the bottle to avoid mixing with carrot because it tends to clash. Instead I mix mine with half water/ half fruit juice, usually apple or orange. I know other people who can palate it with just water, and i'm not there yet. hopefully soon! Congratulations on your first day raw!! YAY!

I agree regarding the carrot juice. I have read that you do not mix it with your green powder so try it with something else. I also agree on the saladacco. I have not managed it either and my angel har pasta was just thinly sliced but it tasted great. I have since watched some of the DVD so expect better results next time.

I find that green powders taste vile, but put fresh greens in a smoothie and that's really yummy!
