:p Yours are beautiful! I made some tonight for my gang and they went wild over them. Of course they weren't as pretty as yours. What did you shape yours with?

i would guess 1 of 2 ways.

1 - Take a chunk, roll it in coconut shreds till all the sticky surface is covered with coconut, then form balls by hand.

2 - Get your hands wet (with clean water), roll a chunk of fudge into little balls using the water as a sticky-barrier, then roll the ball in coconut until covered.

I love "seeing" the foods everyone is making! This is one of my favorite recipes but now I'll try it this way especially for the pretty presentation. Thank you for the idea!

Thanks, all.

I just rolled them into balls in the coconut. I didn't have any problems with them getting too sticky.

I served them for some company I had last night and everyone loved them!

I had to bring this one to the top again, I know it is a simple recipe but a real raw food livesaver for me! Since Christmas I've had that evening craving for a bit of "real" chocolate and these fudge balls have helped me get back on track. I just made another batch and they are setting up in the freezer, yum!

I just made Alissa's fudge balls this week. I halfed the recipe, and ate it in less than 24 hours. I found them to be sticky, so I froze them. They were so fudgey, they didn't last long. I even made my own almond butter....I guess I gotta hit the kitchen to make some more.

Those look really nice! They actually look a lot like my chocolate, date and coconut balls.. Does those contain dates or other dried fruits? I know I can't ask for the recipe, I'm just curious lol.. :p

They contain dates but I'd think raisins would work too. I've even used the coconut covered dates in these and they are just as good. So very fudge like!

I've used raisins before, and use them if I don't have dates!

I made these last night and did not like them :o . And I think I did not use enough dates as they were not very sweet at all. So I chilled the one's I made and have more dates soaking to incorporate into the remaining dough.

OK, I tried one this morning - after it's over night chill - and I really liked them! I think initially they were warm from the food processor and that put me off.

It's amazing how a little thing like chilling can completly change a recipe! :p

OK I have found the ultimate way to partake of the Fudge Balls! I tried this yesterday and it was a sure hit. . .with ME!

Prepare the following:

1 x hot bath with bubbles, oil, salts of your choosing
1 x cup of your favorite warm drink - I had tea
1 x several Fudge Balls - I had three or maybe it was four, hmm
1 x favorite trashy novel
1 x serving tray w/ pretty napkin
Dry Brush

Run bath, prepare tray with tea napkin & Fudge Balls & drink - perhaps a small flower too :p . Carry tray to tub and position close to tub. Remember trashy novel!
Strip, dry brush and hop in. Eat at leasure and totally enjoy! ;)

Has anyone tried stuffing these or putting in a filling? I was thinking the frosting from the date nut torte would be lovely INSIDE!
