hey all, having some issues with my blood pressure. Its "way to high" (150/100) per the doctor.

Per my dr, bp is 1/3 genetic, 1/3 exercise, 1/3 environment.

genetics: my mother has high blood pressure, as did members on her side of the family. my fathers blood pressure is 110/70.

I joined a gym today through work. Coverage for the gym will begin December 1. less than 6 months ago I was running 10 miles a day. I will slowly work back to this. In 6 months Ive ate like a pig and put on too much weight. Im close to 300 lbs now.

I do have a stressful job. But Im learning to laugh and relax. Im vegan and work to be Raw.

So heres the bad thing. I started blood pressure meds about 1 month ago. I feel like crap. 0 energy, cant take "good, deep breaths" or so it seems.

Anyway.

Lets focus. Im wanting to do raw and exercise like hell. Im talking about running 10 miles a day. This wasnt an issue being vegan. I would eat lots of beans, rice, and go like hell. Sprouts do not interest me.

Im going to the Dr tomorrow to get off of the bp meds. A slow decline off of them in fear of heart issues if stopped suddenly.

Do you have High blood pressure? Whats your cholesterol?

My BP was 140/102 when I went partial raw Sept 19th. I went 100% oct. 20. My weight dropped 30# and my blood pressure was 110/75 last week. My Dr. said it was genetic too.

There is hope.

On Jan 19 2005, my blood preasure was 249/176 basically, I was a walking time bomb, my resting heart rate was 174, and that was when I was sitting down and being calm.

by March 18, 2005 my birthday, my blood preasure was 120/74
which is normal, my resting heart rate was 76, no meds, no doctors, no nothing just raw foods. Plain and simple.

When I eat raw foods I feel great, when I eat cooked, I feel dead, just like the food. So, there you have it.

I don't care what anyone says, raw foods saved my life.

I didn't exercise, I didn't change my job, I didn't do anything differently except my food.

I'm probably about 75% raw on the average.

For about 2 years my doctor was wanting to put me on BP meds. Once I stated eating high raw, my BP has come down enough to where he doesn't bug me about it anymore.

I have always had low Cholesterol, but when I went high raw, it came down even more (my total Cholesterol was 104).

Also since going high raw, my thyroid meds have been cut back 5 times and I've lost about 30-35 pounds.

Now if I could just get to 100% raw, I'll be off my thyroid meds and at my ideal weight.

Once you're all raw, you WILL see improvements in your BP and weight. Keep us posted on how you're doing!
