note: mentions sad food
hi,
i've been having really bad nausea last night and today. normally i'd have tea w/ honey, saltine crackers, soup or broth, ginger ale, and any of those other so-called "remedies" that sad people profess. however, i want to fight this nausea the raw way!
i was having difficulty swallowing water earlier today. i was having difficulty resting either. i had a couple dates w/ almond butter, couldn't motivate myself to make a green juice drink.
what helps you w/ fighting nausea?
thanks.

warm tea (not hot, but warmed until your finger can rest in it without burning it) with ginger or just warm water with ginger! That helped me one night when I had nausea.
Hope you feel better soon!

I do the ginger tea too, as well as chamomile tea. Chamomile especially always relieves any of my stomach troubles.

It depends on why you are nauteous. I was nauteous because I ate too much fat on Thanksgiving. I ate citrus fruit. It seemed to help digest the nuts. But lemon water and maybe ginger?

I discovered that Kombucha works for me when I've eaten a bad combo (which doesn't happen often; I have a stomach of steel!).
I'm not sure why it works, but it does (for me).
I also gave it to a friend who was eating high-raw and then ate some horrible greasy fried food and ended up lethargic and sicky: it helped surprisingly quickly.
Here is what I do and what I recommend to my friend when he goes "off" his eating plan:
Drink a serving of Kombucha. The rest of the day/evening, if hungry, drink only green smoothies with one kind of fruit only and with as little fruit as you can stand (use stevia, if you need to).
Drink a serving of Kombucha before bed.
Next day, if you still feel poorly, drink smoothies all day and eat fruit to get your alkaline balance restored.
When I drink kombucha the evening of a bad combo, I wake up 100% the next day; can't tell you why. I assume it kicks me back into alkaline balance quickly; but I really don't know. I also have acquired a taste for it now :)
Might be worth a try anyway :) We're all different; so I don't know if this will work for you.
Kombucha can be found in natural markets in the refrigerated section.
I like SYNERGY KOMBUCHA, by Millenium (http://www.gtskombucha.com/) ,particularly the Ginger blends.
* Some raw foodists object to them since they are cultured from tea leaves (caffeine) and a bit of sugar; however the brand above claims to contain neither.

I read that ginger is clinically proven in a double blind study to be as effective as Gravol.

Dehydration can cause nausea. Are you drinking at least a couple of quarts of water a day?
When I get nauseated it's mostly because of dehydration.

When I get nausea I break off a finger of ginger root and nibble on it through out the day. It helps alot. You can take it everywere w/ u too. I always carry a little w/ me in my pocket so I have it when I feel the need.

Peppermint tea does the trick. And I only ate apples during the time I had the flu. Mind you, I had it much easier than those around me. I had 12 children living with me at the time and each one took one to three days on the couch, fever, vomiting. I was naseous for a day and still had energy to keep on! Yay for raw!

Hi, ginger is used for morning sickness, so might help you, too. :)
