Hi everyone!
I recently found the path of raw for about 2 weeks. Some members of my family were encouraging but yet still critical, and some were downright mean and stubborn. I started to eat some cooked foods when my pressures from work and school got to be too much and then I started noticing I was gaining weight and feeling generally pretty crappy all around. So now I'm trying to get back on track and go raw again. I noticed so many benefits right away that I wasn't fully aware of until I went back to cooked. I assume this is a familiar experience for new raw foodists! Am I right? I felt so guilty about going back to cooked foods and I realized my relationship with food was much more tangled that I had realized. I am hoping to get some support here that I don't get in the "real world" and also to get some ideas of what to eat.

Welcome Margi from Hamilton!
Yes, from the posts I've read here on this forum, others go through the same experience that you've shared on your posts. It took me several iterations to arrive where I'm at now on my journey as well.
Happy Thanksgiving... I'm off to see my family now. :)
Cheers,

It's so nice to hear that other people have had similar experiences! I felt so guilty when i went back to cooked foods. I thought I really wasn't a raw foodist after all. I think it's going to be a tough journey but I am prepared :)

Hi Margi, welcome!!!! I too have discovered what happens when you go back to eating cooked!! I gave in to cooked after several stressful things happened and I just gave up. Well, I am miserable!! Starting anew today. I'm starting Now!! So glad you are starting again too. Hang around, this is a great place to find the support you need. I think sometimes we have to relapse to know just how good raw foods are. Well, off to make a green smoothie. Good luck and eat raw just for today, everyday. Blessings Earthmama

That's also what happened to me, I became very stressed out and I just reverted to cooked food, thinking it would be easier that way. But then I came to realize that the cooked food was CREATING more stress in my life by burdening my digestive system and making me feel ill. Today is day two for me!! Congrats on getting back on track!
