I did not realize the directions asked for soaked nuts. I am soaking as I type--but has anyone made this recipe without the 12 hour soak. Really want to do this tonight to firm up for tomorrow. Is is critical? Any and all help welcome!

Kathy,

Warm water? -.. putting the bowl in the dehydrator to warm up the water might speed up the soak time. You'll need them moooooooooooooshy.

Renee,

Thank you for the perfect suggestion. So simple and it worked. The Noasted Turkey is in the dehydrator and the house smells so wonderful. My first raw Thanksgiving.

I hope you didn't leave it in the dehyrator too long! My ended up smelling like my garbage can :( At least the dog is eating it. Next time I make this, I'm making small patties and dehydrating them for a shorter time.

kmik,

Sorry to hear of your Noasted Turkey experience. This was my first attempt at making it. I feel it came out pretty good. I only made 1/2 of the recipe since it was just me. I then took half the mixture and formed a small loaf and made patties out of the other half. It did taste like stuffing and I did put the cranberry with it as it was needed for the moisture.

My only disappointment was in my first attempt at the Blueberry Pie. Did not care for the almond flavor in the crust although the filling was pretty good. Used frozen berries which I feel may have made a difference. If I were to make it again, would probably use a different nut in the crust and fresh berries (if affordable).

Very happy to have successfully completed day 13 raw AND Thanksgiving--my most favorite food day! Was the only one eating raw but enjoyed every bite.

Sounds like you did great! You should be very proud of yourself :) And I'm glad to hear your noasted turkey turned out good. I know mine WAS... I just left it too long waiting for dinner. But it was good when I had sampled it earlier in the day. I feel so bad ruining good food! We had a couple of pies that weren't perfect too... but live and learn :)
